SecDef Trip to Middle East and Gulf Region
A senior Defense department spokesman will provide a background briefing on Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen's upcoming trip to the Middle East and Gulf region at 12:45 p.m. (EST) in the Pentagon's DoD Briefing Room, Room 2E781, on March 2, 1999.
Cohen is scheduled to leave on March 4 to visit U.S. forces in the region and to consult with his counterparts and senior government officials in the following countries: Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. Cohen is scheduled to return on March 12.
