Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen will host the Pentagon observance of National Womens History month at the Pentagon at 2 p.m. (EST), Thursday, March 5, 1998.
Tipper Gore, wife of Vice President Al Gore, will be the keynote speaker.
Senior Master Sgt. Jacquelyn T. Marshall, U.S. Air Force, will give the enlisted address.
Additionally, Erika Martinez, age 12, of John Tyler Elementary School, which is a DoD sponsored school, will read her winning essay on Living the Legacy of Womens Rights, and will be recognized on the podium.
This year marks the 150th anniversary of the Womens Rights Movement
The observance will be held in the Pentagon Auditorium, Room 5A1070.
