Gen. Joseph W. Ralston, Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Will Travel to Bosnia, Slovenia, and Greece
Gen. Joseph W. Ralston, vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will travel to Bosnia, Slovenia, and Greece from June 20 to June 25, 1998. He will meet with senior civilian and military officials to discuss bi-lateral and multi-lateral defense and security issues of mutual interest.
While in Bosnia on June 21, 1998, the vice chairman will visit SFOR Headquarters in Sarajevo and have lunch with the troops, following which he will travel to Tuzla, to visit Task Force Eagle. In Ljubljana, Slovenia, June 22 to June 23, 1998, the vice chairman will address the Chiefs of Defense and military representatives from the U.S., Slovenia, Italy, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), Romania, Albania, and Greece; will meet with the President of the Republic of Slovenia Milan Kucan; and will meet with ministry and defense officials. The vice chairman will travel to Greece, June 23 to June 25, 1998, and will meet with senior military and defense officials to include Minister of Defense Apostolos-Athanasios and with Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff Gen. Athanasios Tzoganis. The vice chairman is scheduled to return June 25, 1998.
