SecDef and DepSecDef at Swearing In Ceremony for Chancellor for Education and Professional Development
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen will host the swearing in ceremony for the Chancellor for Education and Professional Development Jerome F. Smith Jr., in the Pentagon at 2:30 p.m. (EDT), Friday, Oct. 2, 1998.
The selection of the chancellor promotes a key Defense Reform Initiative decision to raise the quality of civilian training and professional development to world-class standards.
Deputy Secretary of Defense John J. Hamre will administer the oath of office.
Hamre and Smith will conduct a media availability following the ceremony.
