DoD Will Host "One America Conversation" at the University of New Mexico

The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Equal Opportunity will host a "One America Conversation" at 1 p.m. (MST) on Friday, Nov. 13, in Dane Smith Hall, the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, N.M. This event will be the 35th "One America Conversation" assisted by the Department of Defense (DoD) in cities and universities across America since December 1997.

The seminars are part of DoD's support, marshaled by Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Equal Opportunity William E. Leftwich III, of the President's Initiative on Race. University students from many institutions in New Mexico will participate in the Nov. 13 discussion. The aim of the "One America Conversation" is to move the country closer to a stronger, more just, and more unified society, one that offers opportunity and fairness to all Americans. The forums offer the chance for every citizen in our country to be part of a great national conversation about America's racial diversity and about the strength diversity brings.
