Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman to Visit Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Israel
Gen. John M. Shalikashvili, U.S. Army, chairman of the Joint
Chiefs of Staff, will depart Andrews Air Force Base, Md., today,
Jan. 3, 1997, for a visit to Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Israel. In
each country, he will be the guest of his counterpart and will
meet with senior U.S. and host country officials. Shalikashvili
will return to Washington, D.C., on Jan. 10.
