QDR Press Briefing Moved to 2:30 p.m. (EDT) vice earlier time of 1:30 p.m.
Due to a scheduling change, Secretary of Defense William S.
Cohen's Press Briefing on the Department's Quadrennial Defense
Review (QDR) has been moved to 2:30 p.m. (EDT) vice the earlier
announced time of 1:30 p.m., Monday, May 19, 1997.
The QDR Report will still be available to the press on
Monday, May 19, 1997 at 10 a.m. (EDT). One copy of the QDR
report per news organization will be available for credentialed
members of the media in the Directorate for Defense Information,
Room 2E765. Media or couriers without Pentagon access should use
the Pentagon's Mall Entrance (not the Metro Entrance) and call
697-5131 from the telephone adjacent to the entrance security
guard post to arrange for pick up/delivery of a copy of the
report.
This report will be now be embargoed until the 2:30 p.m.
briefing by Secretary Cohen and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of
Staff Gen John Shalikashvili in the Pentagon's Briefing Room,
2E781.
The QDR report also will be accessible via the Internet at:
www.defenselink.mil under publications.
