Bradley-FIST Demonstration

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency's (DARPA) Simulation In Training for Advanced Readiness (SIMITAR) program will conduct a live demonstration of the Bradley Full Crew Interactive Skills Trainer (Bradley-FIST) at 10 a.m., Thursday, August 28, in Exhibit Area #2 adjacent to the Pentagon North Parking Area. The demonstration is open to the media, however, access to the interior of the demonstration vehicle will be limited.

The Bradley-FIST features a gunnery training system appended to a Bradley fighting vehicle and an Engagement Skills Trainer. The gunnery trainer allows Bradley crews to practice precision gunnery skills, while the Engagement Skills Trainer allows the Bradley's dismounted soldiers to train in the same virtual battlespace as the Bradley vehicle. The Bradley-FIST allows, for the first time, mounted and dismounted soldiers to train together and engage the same targets simultaneously, just as they would during an actual battle.

Access to the demonstration vehicle is limited due to space. Media interested in attending this demonstration should contact Lt Col Bob Potter, at (703) 697-3189 as soon as possible so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
