Secretary of Defense will host a ceremony In Lieu Of Press Brief
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen will host a ceremony to highlight DoD's significant contributions toward the protection of the global environment at 2 p.m. (EDT) on Thursday, Sept. 25, 1997, in lieu of the Pentagon's regularly scheduled press briefing.
As previously announced, Carol Browner, administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, and Sherri W. Goodman, deputy under secretary of Defense for Environmental Security will honor Department of Defense individuals who have made contributions.
Both Secretary Cohen and Ms. Browner will make brief statements on global climate change.
