Vice President Al Gore will visit the Pentagon to join Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen as he presents his plans for reforms of the Department of Defense in a press briefing Monday, Nov. 10, 1997, at 10:15 a.m. (EST).
The Vice President and the Secretary will be joined by Deputy Secretary of Defense John J. Hamre; Gen. Henry H. Shelton, chairman of the Joints Chief of Staff; and Vice Adm. Dennis Blair, director of the Joint Staff. This revolution in business affairs of the Department of Defense briefing will take place in the Pentagon Briefing Room 2E781.
Coverage of the Vice Presidents arrival and departure will be limited to photo only. Media equipment for coverage of the arrival must be preset at the Mall Entrance no later than 9 a.m. (EST).
