General John M. Shalikashvili, USA, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will depart Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland, on Tuesday, Feb. 6, for a visit to Romania, Italy and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
General John M. Shalikashvili, USA, Chairman of the JointChiefs of Staff, will depart Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland, onTuesday, Feb. 6, for a visit to Romania, Italy and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
While in Romania he will meet with his counterpart,General Dumitru Cioflina, Romanian President Ion Iliescu,Minister of National Defense Gheorghe Tinca, and other seniorgovernment and military officials to discuss topics of mutualinterest and regional security.
On Friday, Feb. 9, General Shalikashvili will visit U.S.troops in Tuzla.
He will continue to Sarajevo for visits withNATO and IFOR commanders as well as senior government officialsin Bosnia-Herzegovina.
General Shalikashvili will return toAndrews AFB on Saturday, Feb. 10.
