No. 153-P:05/16/95:Gen. John M. Shalikashvili, chairman of
Gen. John M. Shalikashvili, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will host an
Armed Forces Full Honors Arrival Ceremony at the Pentagon River Plaza at 9 a.m.
(EDT), May 17, 1995, for the arrival of Lt. Gen. Amnon Lipkin Shahak, chief of
the General Staff, Israel Defense Forces.
General Shahak is visited the United States from May 16-23 as the guest of
General Shalikashvili. During the period of the visit, he will tour various
military installations in Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, and
Massachusetts. While in Washington, D.C., General Shahak will participate in a
wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns, Arlington National
Cemetery, at 3:30 p.m. (EDT) on May 17.
Photographic opportunities only will be available at the arrival ceremony, at
the beginning of the discussions with the Chairman, and at the wreath-laying
ceremony at Arlington Cemetery. Because of the limited space in the Chairman's
