The U.S. Army will honor this year's recipients of the MacArthur Leadership
Awards in a Pentagon ceremony at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 1995, in the
Department of Defense Auditorium, Room 5A1070. Army Chief of Staff Gen. Gordon
R. Sullivan and the MacArthur Foundation's President, Robert M. White II, will
present the awards. A photo opportunity will follow the ceremony.
The 24 Army captains who will receive the award represent the service's most
outstanding junior officers from among its ranks in both the Active and Reserve
Components. Each recipient will receive a bronze bust of the late General of
the Army as a momento of the Army's recognition of each officer's leadership
performance epitomized by MacArthur's credo, "Duty, Honor, Country."
For more information contact Denis Keating, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff
for Personnel Public Affairs, at (703) 695-1186.
