Iraqi Ministry of Labor Directors

                 Three directors from the Iraqi Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs in Baghdad, Fatin Al-Saeda, director of employment, Evelyn Rasho, director of information technology and Swanson Mahdi, director of the employment and vocational training center will conduct a briefing on their roles in the new Iraqi government on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 3:30 p.m. EDT.  The briefing will take place in the DoD Briefing Studio, Pentagon, Room 2E781. 

 

                Fatin Al-Saeda’s duties include outreach activities to identify employment opportunities in the government and private sector.  Ms. Al-Saeda also works in public relations for employment centers nationwide.  She holds a degree in English literature.  Prior to joining the Ministry of Labor, Ms. Al-Saeda taught English as a second language at various institutes and schools throughout Baghdad. 

 

                Evelyn Rasho’s duties include management of the central database to include statistical analysis, programming and systems analysis. She has been with the Ministry for the past 30 years.  Ms. Rasho holds a degree in statistics from the University of Mustansaria. 

 

                Swanson Mahdi manages the Employment and Vocational Training Center, which involves coordinating the center’s overall activities including finance and budgeting. Prior to joining the Ministry, Ms. Mahdi was the manager of the Planning and Monitoring Department at the El-Ameen Institute of Iraq’s Military Industry.  She holds a chemical engineering degree from the University of Baghdad. 

 

Media representatives who do not have a Pentagon building pass and wish to cover this event should arrive at the Pentagon's North Parking Entrance at 3:00 p.m. for an escort.  Media without a Pentagon building pass must have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.
