Secretary of Defense William Perry departs Washington, D.C. on Monday, June 26
for Warsaw and Moscow.
Secretary Perry arrives in Warsaw on June 27 to hold bilateral meetings with
senior officials from the Polish government. He departs on June 28 for Moscow
to participate in the semi-annual Gore-Chernomyrdin Commission meeting. The
Commission, co-chaired by Vice President Al Gore and Russian Prime Minister
Viktor Chernomyrdin, will meet on June 29-30. While in Moscow, Secretary Perry
will also hold discussions with senior officials from the Russian government
and representatives from the Duma.
Secretary Perry returns to Washington, D.C. on June 30.
A background briefing regarding Secretary Perry's trip will be conducted by
senior defense officials in the DoD Briefing Room, 2E781, on Friday, June 23 at
11 a.m.
