Deputy Secretary of Defense to Speak at Hungarian Embassy
Deputy Secretary for Defense Paul Wolfowitz will speak at the unveiling of a monument honoring an American Revolutionary War hero Saturday, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m. EDT. The event will take place at the Embassy of the Republic of Hungary, 2950 Spring of Freedom Street, NW, Washington, D.C.
Hungarian by birth, American by choice, Michael Kovats de Fabricy died fighting for American independence at the battle of Charleston, S.C. in 1779. He has since become a symbol of the long-standing friendship between Hungary and the United States.
