Secretary of the Army Togo D. West Jr. is traveling in Europe this week with
scheduled stops in Germany and Macedonia.
West will visit 7th Army Training Command at Grafenwoehr today to talk with
soldiers from U.S. Army Europe who are participating in exercise "Mountain
Shield II." This exercise is designed to provide training for European-based
U.S. forces in deployment procedures, joint force planning and
interoperability, planning and conducting air assault and air mobility
operations, contingency missions, and redeployment procedures.
West is scheduled to visit the Marshall Center in Garmisch on Tuesday to
address the current class of 75 students representing 25 countries. His talk
will focus on the United States National Security Strategy.
On Wednesday West will visit Macedonia, where he will meet with senior defense
and government officials before visiting soldiers at Camp Able Sentry and
various observation posts throughout the region.
West is scheduled to return to Washington on Thursday. For more information,
