Secretary of Defense William J. Perry will conduct a briefing on Tuesday,
October 3, at 1:30 p.m. in the Pentagon Briefing Studio, Room 2E781, on this
week's informal meeting of NATO Defense Ministers in Williamsburg. This will
be in lieu of the regularly scheduled DoD briefing. The DoD point of contact
for this briefing is CDR Chuck Franklin, (703) 697-5131.
While in Williamsburg Secretary Perry will conduct a press conference on
Friday, October 6, at 2:15 p.m. in the Media Center (Commonwealth Hall). Media
representatives desiring to cover this should contact the Media Center at (804)
221-0087.
Media are reminded that most Ministerial events will be conducted inside a
security perimeter (Williamsburg Lodge, Williamsburg Inn, Governor's Palace).
Access to these areas, either for interviews or scheduled media events, will
require prior coordination and an escort. Additionally, some events will be
accessible only on a limited pool basis. Special pool cards will be issued by
the Media Center upon accreditation or prior to the event. Transportation will
be provided to and from each media opportunity, starting from the Media
Center.
