No. 233-P:10/24/94:Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisitio

Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition and Technology Paul Kaminski will hold a press conference at 10:15 a.m. (PDT) on Tuesday, October 25, in San Francisco, to announce the winners of the second Technology Reinvestment Project competition. The press conference will be held in the Monterey Room (fourth floor) of the Hilton and Towers Hotel, 333 O'Farrell Street.

The Technology Reinvestment Project is a Clinton Administration initiative to integrate the commercial and defense sectors into a single, leading-edge technology and industrial base. It is jointly implemented by a collaboration of six Federal agencies -- the Departments of Defense (Advanced Research Projects Agency, Army, Navy, Air Force), Commerce, Energy, and Transportation, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and the National Science Foundation.

The press conference is being held in conjunction with the Seventeenth ARPA Systems and Technology Symposium.

Media wishing to cover the event should report to the press room (Van Ness Room at the hotel) for credentials. Point of contact for more information is Glenn Flood at (703) 695-0192 or Jan Walker (415) 771-1400.
