Chief of Naval Operations Assumption of Office Ceremony Announced
Navy Adm. Gary Roughead will assume the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations in a ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 11, at 10:30 a.m. EDT at Washington Navy Yard. Secretary of the Navy Donald Winter will be the keynote speaker.
Roughead relieved Adm. Mike Mullen as chief of naval operations on Sept. 29 following Senate confirmation.
Roughead will hold a brief media availability in the reception area of the Navy Museum. The event will be carried live on The Pentagon Channel.
