The Technical Cooperation Program at 50th Anniversary Meeting Announced

            The Department of Defense will host the 50th Anniversary meeting of The Technical Cooperation Program (TTCP) at the Pentagon Conference Center Oct. 22-26.
            The Technical Cooperation Program has provided a mechanism for successful international cooperation for 50 years. Its main value is that it provides a forum for collaborative exchanges and joint trial resulting in substantial savings in time and money through the reduced duplication in national research and development, enhanced system performance and increased commonality and interoperability.  TTCP collaborative research leads to the provision of better and more reliable equipment to our armed forces. In addition, research breakthroughs are also transferred to the defense industries of the participants for the improvement of present and future generation military systems.
            TTCP is one of the largest collaborative science and technology organizations in the world. It is estimated that over 1,200 scientists and engineers from 170 organizations in the five nations are directly involved.
Media are invited to attend the public sessions Oct. 23 from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. EDT.
