On Aug. 31, 2009, Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates will visit Lockheed Martin’s Joint Strike Fighter factory in Fort Worth, Texas. He will tour the facility, talk with employees and conduct a brief media availability. The secretary will then travel to Greenville, Texas, to visit the L3 Communications plant where they are outfitting MC-12 Liberty aircraft with equipment for operations in Afghanistan. Finally, the secretary will travel to Houston where he will participate in a “Helping a hero.org” presentation of keys to a home for a wounded warrior.
