Director for Strategic Plans and Policy, Joint Staff J-5, Lt. Gen. Victor Renuart, will conduct an on-the-record media round table tomorrow, April 27, at 2:30 p.m. EDT in the DoD Press Briefing Studio 2E579. Renuart will discuss the Multilateral Planners Conference that over 90 countries attended. Its primary focus was current global operations and collaborations on the War on Terrorism. Renuart and his J-5 equivalents worldwide wrapped up the bi-annual two-day conference held at Ft McNair 25-26 April.
This is the fourth conference in this series. The first was convened in May 2004 at the National Defense University in Washington, DC, co-hosted by Poland and the United Kingdom. The second conference met in October 2004 in Warsaw, Poland, co-hosted by Poland. The Romanians co-hosted the third conference in May 2005 in Bucharest, Romania.
The MPC series provides senior military planners a forum to discuss various operations across the entire spectrum of conflict: from humanitarian operations to combat operations. It also provides an opportunity to forge partnerships for assisting in future operations required to aid in disaster relief or prosecuting the War on Terrorism.
