Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Richard B. Myers, U.S. Air Force, will host a ceremony to unveil a legacy board in honor of retired Gen. Henry H. Shelton, U.S. Army, at 1:30 p.m. EST, Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, in the Pentagon's 8th Corridor.
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld will be the keynote speaker for the ceremony.
Shelton served as the 14th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from Oct. 1, 1997, to Sept. 30, 2001. The legacy board depicts Shelton's military career with a portrait, an overview narrative, supporting photos and his medals, spanning 38 years from Vietnam to Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
