Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Henry H. Shelton has postponed his visits to India, Oman and Qatar. Shelton was scheduled to leave Washington today but has delayed his departure due to commitments in Washington. The Department of Defense is currently conducting Pentagon meetings concerning the Quadrennial Defense Review, which will affect the shaping of the U.S. armed forces into the next decade.
Shelton is now scheduled to depart Andrews Air Force Base, Md., on Saturday, June 2, for planned counterpart visits in Jordan and Egypt. He will also attend NATO ministerial meetings in Brussels, Belgium, on June 7-8.
He will return to Washington on Friday, June 8.
