Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld will host a welcoming ceremony in honor of Air Force Gen. Richard B. Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Marine Corps Gen. Peter Pace, vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, at 3 p.m. EDT, Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, at Conmy Hall, Fort Myer, Va.
Myers and Pace were sworn into their respective offices on Oct. 1, 2001. Myers previously served as vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Pace's previous assignment was as commander in chief, U.S. Southern Command.
