Rumsfeld Host U.S.-Japan Security Consultative Committee

            Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld hosted the U.S.-Japan Security Consultative Committee, informally known as a '2+2', meeting at the Pentagon, Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005.  Members of the committee include Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Nobutaka Machimura, and Minister of State for Defense of Japan, Yoshinori Ohno.

            Following the meeting, the committee issued their report "U.S.-Japan Alliance: Transformation and Realignment for the Future".  For a copy of the report, and a related map of the Futenma Replacement Facility Concept Plan, go to the following links:
