Army to Induct Twenty-One Medal Recipients into Pentagon Hall of Heroes

Secretary of the Army Louis Caldera will induct twenty-one recipients of the Medal of Honor into the Hall of Heroes in a Pentagon Courtyard ceremony at noon on June 22, 2000.

The President will present the Medal of Honor to the twenty-one men, all of whom are Asian Americans or Native American Pacific Islanders, at a White House ceremony June 21. The Pentagon ceremony will add the names of the men to the roster in the Hall of Heroes, the Defense Department's permanent display of record for all recipients of the Medal of Honor.

On June 21, 2000, the Medal of Honor recipients and families will lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery. Media who want to cover that event may call the public affairs office of the Military District of Washington at (202) 685-2892.
