ARMY
CONTRACTS
Olin Corporation, Winchester Division, Independence, Mo., is
being awarded a $12,883,246 modification plus-award-fee contract
for the operation and maintenance of a government
owned/contractor operator facility and production of small
caliber ammunition; E.G., 5.56mm, 7.62mm, 20mm, and cal .50 to
support the troops in the field. Work will be performed at
Independence, Mo., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30,
1998. Of the total contract funds, $25,785.00 will expire at the
end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract
initiated on Jan. 9, 1996. The contracting activity is the U.S.
Army Armament, Munitions, and Chemical Command, Rock Island, Ill
(DAAA09-91-Z-0009).
Strand Hunt Construction, Inc., Kirkland, Wash., is being
awarded a $7,519,050 firm-fixed-fee contract for aircraft hanger
to work on the C-17 Fuel Systems Maintenance Dock. Work will be
performed at McChord Air Force Base, Wash., and is expected to be
completed by Aug. 15, 1998. Contract funds will not expire at
the end of the current fiscal year. There were 101 bids
solicited on March 19, 1997, and ten bids received. The
contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers,
Seattle, Wash (DACA67-97-C-0038).
AIR FORCE
Hughes Aircraft Co., Fullerton, Calif., is being awarded a
$22,325,000 face value increase to a firm fixed price contract to
provide for acquisition, test, and installation of four Regional
and one Headquarters Earth Stations applicable to the Royal Saudi
Air Force Fixed and Mobile Satellite Earth Station Wide Area
Network. Contract is expected to be completed April 1998.
Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal
year. This effort supports foreign military sales to Saudi
Arabia. Electronic Systems Center, Hanscom AFB, Mass., is the
contracting activity (F19628-91/C-0124, P00228).
NAVY
Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Systems, Marietta, Ga., is
being awarded a $5,924,673 firm-fixed-price delivery order to
procure Phase IIIB non-recurring engineering design of the P-3C
Communications Improvement Program (CIP) kits and logistics
support for the Navy P-3C aircraft. Work will be performed in
Marietta, Ga., and is expected to be completed by July 1999.
Contract funds would not have expired at the end of the current
fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The
Naval Air Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting
activity (N00019-95-G-0208).
Hughes Aircraft, Naval and Maritime Systems, Mukilteo,
Wash., is being awarded a $6,690,546 cost-plus-award-fee contract
to design, produce, and install a fixed shallow water training
range consisting of hydrophones and cabling for the Navy's RANGES
program. Work will be performed in Mukilteo, Wash., and is
expected to be completed by September 1998. Contract funds in
the amount of $6,690,546 will have expired at the end of the
current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured
with 57 proposals solicited and two offers received. The Naval
Air Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity
(N00019-97-C-0140).
Dillingham Construction Pacific Basin, Limited, Tamuning,
Guam, is being awarded a $7,849,942 firm-fixed-price contract to
provide for construction of a new solid waste management complex
built over an existing landfill. Construction includes, but is
not limited to, a municipal solid waste landfill, a construction
debris/rubble landfill, an asbestos disposal area, an entrance
facility area consisting of a guard house, maintenance area,
tire/barrel shredding area, a parking area, an access road, and
fencing around the complex at the Anderson Air Force Base, Guam,
Marianas Islands. Work will be performed in Guam, Marianas
Islands, and is expected to be completed by August 1998.
Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal
year. This contract was competitively procured with 26 proposals
solicited and six offers received. The Officer in Charge of
