DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

CONTRACTS


Exxon Company International, Florham Park, N.J., is being awarded a $36,609,600 fixed price with economic price adjustment contract for aviation turbine fuel JP5. Eighty four proposals were solicited and 14 were received. Work will be performed in overseas locations and is expected to be completed by July 30, 1998. Funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. The Defense Fuel Supply Center, Fort Belvoir, Va., is the contracting activity (SP0600-97-D-0488).

ARMY

GTE, Needham Heights, Mass., is being awarded a firm-fixed- price contract (appropriation number and dollar value will be issued with each delivery order) with an estimated not-to-exceed cumulative total of $64,428,966, to provide a vehicle for purchasing Long Term Life Cycle Support (LTLCS) of AG Communications Systems (AGCS) Electronic Digital Switch (EDS) Systems installed at Department of Defense installations to support the total (EDS) system. Work will be performed at various locations in the continental United States, and is expected to be completed by May 30, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There was a broad agency announcement on the Electronic Bulletin Board on Feb. 13, 1997, and two bids were received. The contracting agency is the U.S. Army Communications and Electronics Command, Fort Monmouth, N.J. (DAAB07-97-D-L756).

AIR FORCE

GDE Systems, Inc., San Diego, Calif., is being awarded a $13,708,059 cost plus award fee contract to provide for software enhancements, software, hardware, help desk support, demonstration, installation, and documentation in support of Intelligence Information System products, and other Commercial and Government-Off-the-Shelf products. Contract is expected to be completed May 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. At this time, $2,200,000 of the contract funds have been obligated. There were 64 firms solicited and 6 proposals received. Solicitation began December 1996; negotiations were completed May 1997. Rome Laboratory, Rome, NY, is the contracting activity (F30602-97/C-0001).

TRW, Inc., Redondo Beach, , is being awarded a $59,199,244 cost plus award fee contract to provide for the Advanced Extremely High Frequency (EHF) Engineering Model Program. This program is a pre-Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) risk reduction program that will mitigate technical risks of the Advanced EHF communication satellite program through design and verification activities in key tech. Contract is expected to be completed May 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. At this time, $7,000,000 of the contract funds have been obligated. There were 7 firms solicited and 2 proposals received. Solicitation began January 1997; negotiations were completed May 1997. Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles, Calif., is the contracting activity (F04701- 97/C-0025).

Hughes Corp., El Segundo, Calif., is being awarded a $64,598,762 cost plus fixed fee contract to provide for the Advanced Extremely High Frequency (EHF) Engineering Model Program. This program is a pre-Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) risk reduction program that will mitigate technical risks of the Advanced EHF communication satellite program through design and verification activities in key tech. Contract is expected to be completed May 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. At this time, $8,100,000 of the contract funds have been obligated. There were 7 firms solicited and 2 proposals received. Solicitation began January 1997; negotiations were completed May 1997. Space and Missile Systems, Los Angeles AFB, Calif., is the contracting activity (F04701-97/C-0026).

Allied Signal Aerospace, Phoenix, Ariz., is being awarded a $22,873,215 firm fixed price contract to provide for repair/overhaul of 258 (best estimated quantity) Central Gear Boxes and 156 (best estimated quantity) Jet Fuel Starters in support of the F-15 aircraft. Funds will be obligated as individual task orders are issued. Contract is expected to be completed May 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 5 firms solicited and one proposal received. Solicitation began December 1996; negotiations were completed May 1997. San Antonio Air Logistics Center, Kelly AFB, Texas, is the contracting activity (F41608- 97/D-0534).

NAVY

Gibbs & Cox, Inc., New York, N.Y., is being awarded a $5,333,774 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for Class Design Agent Support for the TN PFG-2 Program. This contract provides technical and engineering support services and technical data documentation for the PFG-2 ship construction drawings and equipment specifications. This contract is for the Government of Taiwan under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Program. Work will be performed in New York, N.Y., and is expected to be completed by December 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (N00024-97-C-2118).

Whalley Precision, Inc., Southwick, Mass., is being awarded an indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity contract with firm- fixed-price ceiling of $25,000,000 to inspect, test, disassemble, repair, overhaul, recondition, modify, replace, alter (including design changes, and new parts as applicable), and prepare for shipment, the Types 2, 8, 14, 15, 18, and 22 Periscope Systems. Some engineering and technical support services may also be acquired by individual task orders. Work will be performed in Southwick, Mass., and is expected to be completed by May 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with six proposals solicited and two offers received. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport, R.I., is the contracting activity (N66604-97-D-4241).

Kollmorgen Corp., Electro-Optical Div., Northampton, Mass., is being awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with firm-fixed-price ceiling of $25,000,000 to inspect, test, disassemble, repair, overhaul, recondition, modify, replace, alter (including design changes, and new parts as applicable), and prepare for shipment, the Types 2, 8, 14, 15, 18, and 22 Periscope Systems. Some engineering and technical support services may also be acquired by individual task orders. Work will be performed in Northampton, Mass., and is expected to be completed by May 2002.
