ARMY

Olin Corp., Winchester Division, Independence, Mo., was awarded on July 15, 1997, a $9,206,111 modification to a cost-plus-award-fee contract for the operation and maintenance of a government owned/contractor operated facility and production of small caliber ammunition; i.e., 5.56mm, 7.62mm, 20mm, and caliber .50 to support troops in the field. Work will be performed at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, Independence, Mo., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 1998. Of the total contract funds, $520,237 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Jan. 9, 1996. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Armament, Munitions and Chemical Command, Rock Island, Ill. (DAAA09-91-Z-0009).

USA Asbestos Removal Co. Inc.*, Clifton, N.J., is being awarded $2,500,000 as part of a firm-fixed-price, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract with a cumulative total of $10,000,000 if all options are exercised (base year plus three option years), for the removal and disposal of lead-base paint, asbestos and hazardous materials; and repair and replacement of abated materials. Work will be performed at White Sands Missile Range, N.M., and is expected to be completed by July 16, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 63 bids solicited on April 25, 1997, and eight bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Ft. Worth, Texas (DACA63-97-D-0029).

CIVIL WORKS - NON MILITARY

Pine Bluff Sand & Gravel Co., Pine Bluff, Ark., was awarded on July 15, 1997, a $50,000 increment as part of a $5,638,182 firm-fixed-price contract for work consisting of pipeline dredging approximately 1.8 million cubic yards of new work material from the existing channel and slopes at three separate locations north of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway. Work will be performed in Freeport Harbor, Texas, and is expected to be completed by Feb. 21, 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 20 bids solicited on April 18, 1997, and three bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston, Texas (DACW64-97-C-0027).

NAVY

Hunt Building Corp., El Paso, Texas, is being awarded a $5,947,573 modification to previously awarded contract N68711-96-C-2242 for the repair and revitalization of 82 family housing units and landscape at Murphy Canyon Heights, San Diego, Calif. This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to an amount not-to-exceed $24,432,911. Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif., and is expected to be completed by July 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southwest Division, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity.

AIR FORCE

Lockheed Martin Corp., Marietta, Ga., is being awarded a $146,700,000 face value increase to a firm-fixed-price contract to provide for three C-130 aircraft for the Marine Corps. Contract is expected to be completed October 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There was one firm solicited and one proposal received. Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33657-95/C-2055, P00006).

United Airlines, Inc., Chicago, Ill., is being awarded a $5,000,711 firm-fixed-price contract to provide for FY 1998 international airlift services in support of Air Mobility Command. Contract is expected to be completed September 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 45 firms solicited and 33 proposals received. Solicitation began February 1997; negotiations were completed June 1997. Air Mobility Command, Scott AFB, Ill., is the contracting activity (F11626-97/D-0036).

World Airways, Inc.; Herndon, Va.; Evergreen International Airlines, McMinnvilee, Ore.; Emery Worldwide Airlines, Vandalia, Ohio; Miami Air International, Inc., Miami Springs, Fla.; Northwest Airlines, Inc., St. Paul, Minn.; Southern Air Transport Inc., Columbus, Ohio; United Parcel Service Co., Louisville, Ky.; American Airlines, Inc., Dallas-Ft. Worth International Airport, Texas; Continental Airlines, Inc., Houston, Texas; North American Airlines, Inc., JFK Airport, Jamaica, NY; and USAir Inc., Arlington, Va., is being awarded a $341,420,811 firm-fixed-price contract to provide for FY 1998 international airlift services in support of Air Mobility Command. World Airways will perform approximately 42% of this effort, with the remaining effort performed by the other participating contractors. Contract is expected to be completed September 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 45 firms solicited and 33 proposals received. Solicitation began February 1997; negotiations were completed June 1997. Federal Express Charter Programs, Memphis, Tenn.; American Trans Air, Inc., Indianapolis, Ind.; Air Transport Int'l, Little Rock, Ark.; Limited Liability Co.; Burlington Air Express, Swanton, Ohio; Atlas Air, Inc.; JFK International Airport, Jamaica, NY and Polar Air Cargo, Inc., Long Beach, Calif., is being awarded a $303,557,391 firm-fixed-price contract to provide for FY 1998 international airlift services in support of Air Mobility Command. Federal Express will perform approximately 25% of this effort, American Trans Air approximately 31% and Air Transport, Int'l approximately 40% with the remaining effort performed by the other participating contractors. Contract is expected to be completed September 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 45 firms solicited and 33 proposals received. Solicitation began February 1997; negotiations were completed June 1997. Air Mobility Command, Scott AFB, Ill., is the contracting activity (F11626-97/D-0025).

Tower Air, Inc., JFK International Airport, Jamaica, NY; American International Airways, Inc. Ypsilanti, Mich.; Carnival Air Lines, Dania, Fla.; ABX Air, Inc., Wilimngton, Ohio; and Trans Continental Airlines, Inc., Ypsilanti, Mich., is being awarded a $41,740,049 firm-fixed-price contract to provide for FY 1998 international airlift services in support of Air Mobility Command. American International Airways will perform approximately 58% of this effort, Tower Air will perform approximately 35%, with the remaining effort performed by the other participating contractors. Contract is expected to be completed September 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 45 firms solicited and 33 proposals received.
