ARMY

PRIMEX Technologies Inc., St. Petersburg, Fla., was awarded on July 31, 1997, a $12,828,942 modification to a firm-fixed-price multi-year contract for 6,285 M831A1 TP-T 120mm cartridges (high explosive training round, with inert projectile); and 16,800 M865 TPCSDS-T 120mm cartridges (kinetic training round, with inert projectile), for the country of Egypt, to be used for live fire training for M1A1/M1A2 tanks. Work will be performed at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, Middletown, Iowa, and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were two bids solicited on June 30, 1994, and two bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Armament, Munitions and Chemical Command, Rock Island, Ill. (DAAA09-95-C-0036).

CIVIL WORKS - NON MILITARY

Schwab Co.*, Winona, Minn., was awarded on July 31, 1997, a $100,000 increment as part of a $5,684,365 firm-fixed-price contract for Lock 6 Lockwork, Stage 2, major maintenance. The project consists of, but is not limited to, furnishing all plant, labor, material and equipment necessary to complete a lock rehabilitation program at Lock and Dam 6. Work involves construction of a new central control building, replacing lock electrical systems and upgrading or replacing other numerous smaller features of the lock facility. Site work includes grading, roadways and parking areas, curb and gutters, sidewalks, landscaping, storm sewers, irrigation system, and a temporary maintenance building. Lock features include concrete repairs, handrail replacement, compressed air bubbler system, flag poles, and auxiliary water system. Work will be performed in Trempealeau, Wisc., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 40 bids solicited on March 24, 1997, and four bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul, Minn. (DACW37-97-C-0022).

AIR FORCE

Lockheed Martin Corp., Marietta, Ga., is being awarded a $69,519,840 face value increase to a cost-plus-award-fee contract to provide for Phase One of Out of Production Parts management and redesign in support of Low Rate Initial Production of the F-22 aircraft. The work will be performed at Lockheed Martin Tactical Aircraft Systems, Ft. Worth, Texas (33%), and Hughes Aircraft Co., El Segundo, Calif. (32%), and other locations. Contract is expected to be completed September 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33657-91/C-0006, P00297).

General Electric Co., Cincinnati, Ohio, is being awarded a $7,306,361 face value increase to a firm-fixed-price contract to provide for 2 spare F110-GE-129 engines applicable to the F-16 aircraft. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Aeronautical Systems Center, Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., is the contract activity (F33657-94/D-2000, P0061).

Allied Signal, Inc., Tempe, Ariz., is being awarded an $8,791,151 firm-fixed-price contract to provide for forty-four 85-185L Auxiliary Power Units and 37 installation kits applicable to the MC-130H and AC-130U aircraft. The work will be performed at Allied Signal, Phoenix, Ariz. There was one firm solicited and one proposal received. Solicitation began December 1996; negotiations were completed July 1997. Contract is expected to be completed January 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. San Antonio Air Logistics Center, Kelly Air Force Base, Texas, is the contracting activity (F41608-97/D-0706).

McDonnell Douglas Corp., St. Louis, Mo., is being awarded a $23,052,412 firm-fixed-price contract to provide for Low Rate Initial production of 21 APG-63(V) 1 fire control radar systems applicable to the F-15 aircraft. Solicitation began January 1997; negotiations were completed July 1997. Contract is expected to be completed June 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Honeywell, Inc., Clearwater, Fla., is being awarded an $11,096,000 face value increase to a firm-fixed-price contract to provide for 152 Embedded Global Positioning System/Inertial Navigation System (EGI) units and associated warranties, in support of the F-16 aircraft. Contract is expected to be completed March 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. DEFENSE ADVANCED RESEARCH PROJECTS AGENCY

Parallel Optical Network Interconnect (PONI) Consortium, Hewlett-Packard Laboratories, Palo Alto, Calif., entered into a $23,576,973 "other transaction" with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) on July 29, 1997. DARPA is funding $12,000,545 of the agreement; $4,000,000 is being awarded at this time. The balance of the agreement is funded by industry. The agreement is to develop reliable and robust duplex optical parallel link technology for optical interconnects for military and commercial applications. Additional consortium members are: Hewlett-Packard/CSSD, San Jose, Calif.; Harris Corp., Melbourne, Fla.; McDonnell Douglas Aerospace, St. Louis, Mo.; Mercury Computer Systems, Chelmsford, Mass., and Durham, N.C.; SDL Inc., San Jose, Calif.; University of Southern California, Los Angeles, Calif.; and Boston Optical Fiber, Westborough, Mass. The agreement will terminate in July 2000. Agreement funds do not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The solicitation was issued in July 1996; three bids were received. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (MDA972-97-3-0008).

NAVY

Hughes Radar Systems, El Segundo, Calif., is being awarded a not-to-exceed $7,600,000 firm-fixed-price order for four retrofit kits in support of the AN/APG-73 radar used on F/A-18 aircraft. Work will be performed in El Segundo, Calif., and is expected to be completed by October 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Inventory Control Point, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (N00383-94-G-B501) (Order 0074).

SOLPAC, Inc., dba Soltek Pacific, San Diego, Calif.; Selco, Inc.,* Solana Beach, Calif.; and Valenzuela Engineering, Inc., Santa Maria, Calif., are each being awarded a maximum estimated amount of $15,000,000 (with a guaranteed minimum amount of $62,500) firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity solution order concept contract with multiple award provisions to provide for, but is not limited to, renovation, alteration, improvement, repairs, minor construction and minor architecture/engineering of facilities including site work, utility, street and sidewalk work, and other associated work, minor buildings, and construction necessary for fully functional facilities located at Department of the Navy and U.S. Marine Corps installations. In addition, SOLPAC, Inc., is also being awarded the first task order for historic renovation at Chollas Heights Navy Housing Area, San Diego, Calif., in the amount of $1,646,906 (which includes the minimum guarantee). Work will be performed at various locations in the states of Calif. (80%), Ariz. (15%), N.M. (4%), and Nev. (1%), and is expected to be completed by July 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 50 proposals solicited and 12 offers received. These three contracts may compete for each task order under the terms and conditions of the existing multiple awardee contract. Dreadnaught Marine, Inc., Norfolk, Va., is being awarded a $5,947,675 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, time and material contract to procure machining, welding and packaging services on various submarine antennae and periscope components in support of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Div., Philadelphia, Pa. Work will be performed in Norfolk, Va., and is expected to be completed by August 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 38 proposals solicited and five offers received. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock, Div., Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (N65540-97-D-0006).

Scientific Research Corp., Atlanta, Ga., is being awarded an estimated $7,929,909 indefinite-quantity, cost-plus-fixed-fee, delivery-type contract to provide analytical, engineering, and support services for various satellite communications programs such as Joint Maritime Communications Strategy, Advanced Digital Networking System, Demand Assigned Multiple Access, and Global Broadcast Service. Work will be performed in Atlanta, Ga. (63%), and Charleston, S.C. (37%), and is expected to be completed by July 1998. Contract funds in the amount of $50,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 111 proposals solicited and four offers received. The Naval Command Control and Ocean Surveillance Center, In-Service Engineering, East Coast Div., Charleston, S.C., is the contracting activity (N65236-97-D-5803).
