DEFENSE INFORMATION SYSTEMS AGENCY

MCI Telecommunications Corp., McLean, Va. was awarded on Aug. 5, 1997, a $7,299,560 firm-fixed price contract for leased video/audio connectivity to provide live television and radio to deployed sailors in the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean regions. Contract value for the first program year is $729,956. Twenty prospective offerors were solicited and six offers were received. The award is for five program years with five one-year options. The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization, Scott AFB, Ill. is the contracting activity (DCA200-97-C-0071).

AIR FORCE

Aerojet Electronic Systems Division, Azusa, Calif., is being awarded a $5,500,000 face value increase to a fixed-price-incentive contract to settle a claim associated with extended design and development of five Special Sensor Microwave Imager/Sounders for the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles AFB, Calif., is the contracting activity (F04701-89/C-0036, P00062).

NAVY

Northrop Grumman Corp., Bethpage, N.Y., is being awarded a $13,026,292 modification to previously awarded contract N00019-96-C-0049 to definitize the advance acquisition contract for the FY 1997 Production Program of four E-2C aircraft. Work will be performed in St. Augustine, Fla. (75%); Bethpage, N.Y. (24%); and Milledgeville, Ga. (1%), and is expected to be completed by November 1999. Contract funds would not have expired at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

ARMY

Rockwell Collins, Communications Systems Division, Richardson, Texas, is being awarded a $5,804,197 modification to a firm-fixed-price/time and materials contract for Single Channel Anti-jam Manportable (SCAMP) Block I Spares Sets: 17 for the U.S. Army, and 25 for the U.S. Air Force; 17 SCAMP Block I Spares Set warranties for the U.S. Army; and 25 SCAMP Block I Spares Sets-repairs under time and materials. Work will be performed in Richardson, Texas, and is expected to be completed by Feb. 23, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on March 23, 1997. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Communications and Electronics Command, Ft. Monmouth, N.J. (DAAB07-96-C-A760).

CIVIL WORKS - NON MILITARY

Mosites Construction Co., Pittsburgh, Pa., is being awarded a $50,000 increment as part of a $6,162,905 (if all options are exercised) firm-fixed-price contract for channel rehabilitation, Units 5 and 6, at the Johnstown Channel Improvement Project on the Stonycreek River. The project will include excavation and removal of existing concrete wall and stone masonry walls; construction of a concrete gravity wall, concrete tie-back walls with rock anchors, concrete cantilever walls and concrete cap walls; replacement of concrete channel lining; repair of spalled areas in existing concrete channel lining and concrete walls; repairing cracks in existing concrete walls; cleaning and resealing joints in existing channel lining; replacement of pipe handrailing; painting existing pipe handrailing; repair and replacement of existing drainage features; clearing and removal of sediment in the channel; and appurtenant site work. Work will be performed at Johnstown, Pa., and is expected to be completed by Nov. 16, 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 55 bids solicited on April 28, 1997, and five bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh, Pa. (DACW59-97-C-0013).
