AIR FORCE

McDonnell Douglas Corp., Long Beach, Calif., is being awarded an $11,350,000 firm-fixed-price contract to provide for the Period Four (February-July 1997) Earned Award Fee of the production contract for the C-17 aircraft. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33657-93/C-0036, P00041).

ARMY

Bear Brothers Inc.*, Montgomery, Ala., is being awarded a $7,553,000 increment as part of a not-to-exceed $10,113,000 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of an approximately 80,000 sq. feet, two-story academic facility, featuring a 450 seat auditorium, classroom space, administration and office space. The facility is steel frame construction, exterior walls are exterior insulating finish system (EFIS) on steel studs, batt insulation and gypsum board interior face. Roof system is concrete roof tile on plywood deck. Roof structure is a light gauge steel truss. The foundation system includes reinforced concrete grade beams supported by reinforced concrete pile caps on auger-cast drilled concrete piles. Site work included asphalt parking lots, area lighting and associated utilities. Work will be performed at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala., and is expected to be completed by July 15, 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 109 bids solicited on July 21, 1997, and four bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile, Ala. (DACA01-97-C-0091).

Eichelberger Construction Inc.*, Dillsburg, Pa., is being awarded a $6,292,560 firm-fixed-price contract to construct a new 90,000 sq. foot military education facility for the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. The project includes all plant, labor, tools, devices, materials, supervision, and transportation to construct a building which consists of administrative areas, offices, classrooms, training and food service areas. Work will be performed at Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville, Pa., and is expected to be completed by Dec. 10, 1998. Contract

funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 29 bids solicited on Aug. 6, 1997, and six bids were received. The contracting activity is the National Guard Bureau, Annville, Pa. (DAHA36-97-C-0014).

General Dynamics Land Systems Inc., Sterling Heights, Mich., is being awarded a $33,318,328 modification to a firm-fixed-price multi-year contract for 15 of the 120 Abrams M1A2 tank upgrades called for in multi-year three. Work will be performed in Lima, Ohio (80%); Tallahassee, Fla. (11%); Anniston, Ala. (4%); Scranton, Pa. (3%); Imperial Valley, Calif. (1%); and Muskegon, Mich. (1%), and is expected to be completed by Oct. 31, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on June 30, 1995. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Tank-automotive & Armaments Command, Warren, Mich. (DAAE07-95-C-0292).

Wolverine Supply Inc.*, Wasilla, Alaska, is being awarded a $6,830,000 firm-fixed-price contract for conversion of 104 eight-plex units (13 buildings) into 52 four-plex units. Of the 104 units, 52 are three-bedroom, 790 net sq. feet; and 52 are two-bedroom, 650 sq. feet. Each unit will be 1,500 net sq. feet, with three bedrooms, two and one-half bathrooms, and a single car garage. Work will be performed at Ft. Wainwright, Alaska, and is expected to be completed by Sept. 12, 1998. All contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 44 bids solicited on June 26, 1997, and two bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Anchorage, Alaska (DACA85-97-C-0027).

Maness Environmental Services Inc.*, Long Beach, Calif., is being awarded a $4,473,349 increment as part of a $13,581,891 (total if all options are exercised, base plus two years), indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity multi-year contract for removal and disposal of underground storage tanks and transformers and installation of above ground storage tanks for various sites. Work will be performed in Phoenix, Ariz. (80%); and Las Vegas, Nev. (20%), and is expected to be completed by Sept. 22, 2000. Appropriation number and dollar value will be issued with each delivery order. There were 135 bids solicited on April 30, 1996, and two bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles, Calif. (DACA09-97-D-0013).

CIVIL WORKS - NON MILITARY

Fru-Con Construction Corp., Ballwin, Mo., was awarded $266,230, on Sept. 19, 1997, as part of a not-to-exceed $13,166,616 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of ponds for a fish hatchery with a raw water filling and emptying system; a recreation area with ponds, a softball field, nature trails, tot playground, comfort station, sewage disposal system and storm drainage system; and public access roads including parking areas. Earthwork consists of excavation for ponds, structures, drainage and the access road; stone slope protection and other miscellaneous and appurtenant construction. Work will be performed at the Robert C. Byrd Locks & Dam, W.Va., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 19, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the

end of the current fiscal year. There were 165 bids solicited on May 4, 1996, and three bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington, W.Va. (DACW69-97-C-0019).

NAVY

HND/Hawaiian Dredging (a joint venture), Honolulu, Hawaii, is being awarded a $17,699,751 firm-fixed-price contract for the design and construction of a quality bachelor enlisted quarters (BEQ) at Marine Corps Base, Kaneohe Bay, Oahu, Hawaii. The contract provides for construction of 170 living units, administrative and recreational areas and other support spaces. This contract includes an options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $34,399,540. Work will be performed in Kaneohe Bay, Oahu, Hawaii, and is expected to be completed by March 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 11 proposals solicited and three offers received. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Pacific Division, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, is the contracting activity (N62742-96-C-1373).

McWane and Co., Inc., Arlington, Va., is being awarded a $9,446,439 modification to previously awarded contract N00421-97-D-1424 for administrative, clerical, and library support services for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, Md. Work will be performed in Patuxent River, Md., and is expected to be completed by September 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

Northrop Grumman Corp., Bethpage, N.Y., is being awarded an $8,500,000 modification to previously awarded contract N00019-96-C-0102 to upgrade one E-2C Group I aircraft to Group II configuration. Work will be performed in St. Augustine, Fla., (75%); Bethpage, N.Y. (24%); and Milledgeville, Ga. (1%), and is expected to be completed by May 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

Electric Boat Corp., Groton, Conn., is being awarded a $7,760,000 modification to previously awarded contract N00024-95-C-2101 for Integrated Design Services to support the SEAWOLF Class Submarine ship construction and delivery. Work will be performed in Groton, Conn., and is expected to be completed by September 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

  • Triton Marine Construction Corp.,* Houston, Texas, is being awarded a $7,093,301
  • firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a Ships Model Engineering and Support Facility at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Acoustic Research Detachment, Bayview, Idaho. Work will be performed in Bayview, Idaho, and is expected to be completed by July 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured

Tracor Applied Sciences, Inc., California, Md., is being awarded a $6,287,480 modification to previously awarded contract N00421-97-C5022 to exercise an option for technical and engineering services to support the design, development, installation, integration, test and evaluation, certification, maintenance, and logistics support of Combat and Communications Systems for the Navy's Shipbuilding and Conversion, and Communication/ Electronic programs. Work will be performed in California, Md., and is expected to be completed by September 1998. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Morrison Knudsen Corp., Cleveland, Ohio, is being awarded a $2,940,027 modification to previously awarded contract N62467-93-D-1106 for environmental remedial action at the Naval Ordnance Center, Louisville, Ky. The basic total contract amount is not-to-exceed $300,000,000. Work will be performed in Louisville, Ky., and is expected to be completed by September 1998.
