NAVY

University of Texas, Applied Research Laboratory, Austin, Texas, was awarded on Nov. 17, 1997, a not-to-exceed $48,917,855 modification to previously awarded contract N00039-96-D-0051 to exercise an option to provide support for specific Navy and other government programs through research, development, engineering, test and evaluation. Areas contracted include the study of Naval Warfare and Department of Defense problems involving acoustics, electromagnetic, and other related essential capabilities. This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $249,429,206. The work will be performed in Austin, Texas, and is expected to be completed by September 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

SOLPAC, Inc., dba SOLTEK, Pacific, San Diego, Calif., was awarded on Nov. 17, 1997 a $12,251,988 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a 11,980 square-meter warehouse at the Navy Old Town Complex, Staging Area One, San Diego, Calif. Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif., and is expected to be completed by October 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 78 proposals and seven offers received. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southwest Div., San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity (N68711-97-C-8228).

MacGregor Navire (USA), Inc., Vienna, Va., was awarded on Nov. 17, 1997, a $10,237,903 modification to previously awarded contract N00024-93-C-2220 to exercise an option that provide for class standard equipment for Strategic Sealift Ships (one shipset), engineering/technical services, technical manuals, provisioning technical documentation (PTD), and data. Work will be performed in Gulfport, Miss. (45%), Sweden (27%), Kansas City, Mo. (25%), Lexington, Ky. (2%), and Vienna, Va. (1%), and is expected to be completed by September 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

Engineering Technology Center, an operating segment of Analysis & Technology, Inc., Mystic, Conn., was awarded on Nov. 17, 1997, a $5,514,859 modification to previously awarded contract N00167-95-D-0046 to increase the value of this contract to $18,423,635 and to provide additional effort for 72,000 labor hours due to increasing program requirements. The contract covers a variety of tasking areas which include engineering and technical services in the fields of Structural Acoustic Technology, Advanced Acoustic Technology Applications, Research, Development, Test and Evaluation for submarines and surface ship programs. The work will be performed in Mystic, Conn. (60%), Arlington, Va. (30%), and Bethesda, Md. and various test sites within 200 miles of continental U.S. borders (10%), and is expected to be completed by February 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Div., West Bethesda, Md., is the contracting activity.

Interstate Electronics Corp., Anaheim, Calif., is being awarded a $31,432,044 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to provide engineering, logistics and field services for the TRIDENT I (C4) and TRIDENT II (D5) flight test instrumentation. Work will be performed in Santa Ana, Calif., and is expected to be completed by September 1998. Contract funds in the amount of $26,006,420 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.   • L-3 Communications (formerly Lockheed Martin Wideband Systems), Salt Lake City, Utah, is being awarded a $25,513,471 modification to previously awarded contract
  • N00039-91-C-0027 to exercise the FY98 Production Option (Stage III) to provide four Common High Bandwidth Data Link (CHBDL) systems and related services. The CHBDL system provides shipboard terminal data link and sensor control data to remote airborne platforms. This contract includes one remaining options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value to $124,210,865. The work will be performed in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is expected to be completed by September 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity.

Lockheed Martin Defense Systems, Pittsfield, Mass., is being awarded a $23,721,566 cost-plus-incentive-fee contract for transition from the development phase to the production phase for the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) TRIDENT II Fire Control MK-98 modification 4/5 system. Work will be performed in Pittsfield, Mass., and is expected to be completed by May 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Navy's Strategic Systems Programs, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (N00030-97-G-0042).

Honeywell, Inc., Clearwater, Fla., is being awarded a $8,431,242 fixed-price-incentive contract for the repair of 400 size ten Pendulous Integrating Gyroscopic Accelerometers (PIGAs) and long lead material for the TRIDENT MK-6 Missile Guidance System. Work will be performed in Clearwater, Fla., and is expected to be completed by March 1999. Contract funds in the amount of $6,251,242 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. UNITED STATES SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMAND

United States Marine, Inc., New Orleans, La., is being awarded a $13,071,499 firm-fixed-price delivery order covering the Fiscal Year 1998 requirement for 20 each Naval Special Warfare Rigid Inflatable Boats (NSW RIB) and Trailers, 10 Detachment Deployment Packages, three (3) Interim Contractor Logistics Support Packages, Technical Data, Warranty, and delivery to be produced in New Orleans, Louisiana. The contracting activity is the United States Special Operations Command, Directorate of Procurement, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. (USZA22-96-D-0006).

ARMY

Raytheon Southeast Asia Systems Co., Tewksbury, Mass., is being awarded $43,327,625 as part of a $44,168,331 firm-fixed-price/cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for HAWK Phase III conversion and training for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Work will be performed in Saudi Arabia (90%); and Andover, Mass. (10%), and is expected to be completed by Dec. 30, 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on July 1, 1997. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala. (DAAH01-98-C-0058).

DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

Mas-Hamilton Group*, Lexington, Ky., is being awarded an estimated $22,000,000 fixed-price-with-economic-price-adjustment requirements contract for combination locks. Three proposals were solicited and three were received. Work is expected to be completed by Jan. 13, 2000. Funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. The Defense Industrial Supply Center, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (SPO500-98-D- 0002).
