AIR FORCE

McDonnell Douglas Corp., Huntington Beach, Calif., is being awarded a $48,346,777 cost-plus-award-fee contract to provide for design, fabrication, and test of the Solar Orbital Transfer Vehicle (SOTV). The SOTV is an orbital experiment platform that relies upon solar energy to power its propulsion and electrical systems. Contract is expected to be completed February 2002. Solicitation began September 1997; negotiations were completed January 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Air Force Research Laboratory, Kirtland AFB, N.M., is the contracting activity (F29601-98/C-0031).

Centennial Contractors Enterprises, Vienna, Va., is being awarded a $10,000,000 indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract to provide for the Simplified Acquisition of Base Engineering Requirements (SABER) contract for Andrews AFB, Md., and associated sites through February 22, 1999. The SABER effort will encompass maintenance, repair, and minor construction work. At this time, $600,000 of the contract funds have been obligated. Additional funds will be obligated as delivery orders are issued. Contract is expected to be completed February 2004. There were 58 firms solicited and 10 proposals received. Solicitation began July 1997; negotiations were completed October 1997. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The 89th Contracting Squadron, Andrews AFB, Md. is the contracting activity (FA4416-98/D0007).

ARMY

Northrop Grumman, Linthicum, Md., is being awarded a $20,797,736 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for 16 Synthetic Aperture Radar Sets and two spares. Work will be performed in Linthicum, Md., and is expected to be completed by March 30, 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Nov. 18, 1997. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Communications & Electronics Command, Ft. Monmouth, N.J. (DAAB07-97-C-J738).

CIVIL WORKS - NON MILITARY

Brutoco Engineering and Construction Inc., Fontana, Calif., is being awarded a $16,826,455 firm-fixed-price continuing contract to concrete-line the existing river; provide concrete retaining walls and parapets; provide landscaping, and ornamental fencing and appurtenances, for approximately four miles. Work will be performed from Willow St. to Long Beach Ave., within the cities of Long Beach, Compton, and Paramount, in the county of Los Angeles**, Calif., and is expected to be completed by March 8, 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 65 bids solicited on April 11, 1997, and eight bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles, Calif. (DACW09-98-C-0014).

R E T R A C T I O N

Contract DACA41-98-C-0010 announced Feb. 20, 1998, for The Law Co. Inc., is hereby retracted.
