ARMY

Freightliner, Portland, Ore., is being awarded $4,261,204 as part of a $123,302,693 firm-fixed-price/five year requirements contract for 678 trucks (M915A4), and 1,133 glider kits (M915A4). Work will be performed in Portland, Ore., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 35 bids solicited on Dec. 4, 1997, and two bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Tank-automotive & Armaments Command, Warren, Mich. (DAAE07-98-D-5001).

Exide Corp., Reading, Pa., is being awarded a $5,120,582 firm-fixed-price contract for 96,089 batteries (6TLFP) for use in various military vehicles. Work will be performed in Manchester, Iowa, and is expected to be completed by March 31, 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 54 bids solicited on Nov. 21, 1997 and four bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Tank-automotive & Armaments Command, Warren, Mich. (DAAE07-98-C-T264).

Miller, R.A. Industries Inc.*, Grand Haven, Mich., is being awarded a $7,315,441 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for Single Channel Ground and Airborne System (SINCGARS): AS3900A/VRC antenna - 35,001, and antenna elements 3,100. Work will be performed in Grand Haven, Mich., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 19 bids solicited on April 15, 1997, and seven bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Communications & Electronics Command, Ft. Monmouth, N.J. (DAAB07-97-C-C257).

Coonrod Associates, Wichita, Kan., is being awarded a $7,224,000 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a Close Combat Tactical Training Facility. The construction will be a pre-engineered rigid frame on a spread footing foundation with a standing seam metal roof. The walls will be metal siding with a brick wainscot, will be insulated to R-19, and the roof system will be insulated to R-30. All support utilities and site improvements are required, including landscaping, parking, and hardstands. Work will be performed at Fort Riley, Kansas, and is expected to be completed by Aug. 25, 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the

current fiscal year. There were 178 bids solicited on Feb. 20, 1998, and five bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City, Mo. (DACA41-98-C-0019).

The Law Co., Wichita, Kan., is being awarded a $15,104,000 fixed-price contract for the construction of two dormitories, with spaces for a total of 236 persons, based on the standard "1+1" living/sleeping room modules. The standard module will include a two-person living/sleeping room, two built-in closets, and shared kitchen and bathroom. Dormitories will also provide laundry, storage, office and recreational spaces for occupants. Supporting facilities will include utilities, fire protection, paving, walks, curb and gutter, communications, and signage. The project also includes asbestos removal and demolition of three old dormitory buildings located remote from the new site. Work will be performed at McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas, and is expected to be completed by Oct. 20, 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 138 bids solicited on Feb. 5, 1998, and six bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City, Mo. (DACA41-98-C-0021)

ICF Kaiser Engineers Inc., Fairfax, Va., is being awarded a delivery order amount of $5,950,856, as part of a $17,124,263 modification to a cost-plus-fixed-fee task order awarded against an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract. The effort includes environmental remediation of contamination in soil at the Colonie Interim Storage Site in the Town of Colonie, N.Y., under the Formerly Used Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP). Work will be performed in Colonie, N.Y., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on March 9, 1998. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore, Md. (DACA31-95-D-0083).

AIR FORCE

General Electric Company, Cincinnati, Ohio, is being awarded a $21,423,576 face value increase to a firm-fixed-price contract to provide for six F100B engines applicable to the F-16C aircraft. This effort supports foreign military sales to Bahrain. The work is expected to be completed October 1998. Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33657-94-D-2000, 0069).

NAVY

Lockheed Martin Federal Systems, Manassas, Va., is being awarded a $7,885,983 cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for engineering services in support of the High Frequency Sonar Program. Work will be performed in Manassas, Va., and is expected to be completed by April 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport, Newport, R.I., is the contracting activity (N66604-98-D-0051).

Vitro Corporation, Rockville, Md., is being awarded a $7,255,655 cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to provide up to 198,000 technical and engineering manhours to provide engineering support services for launcher and missile systems department programs. Work will be performed in Newport, R.I. (80%), Groton, Conn. (5%), San Diego, Calif. (5%), Norfolk, Va. (5%), and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (5%), and is expected to be completed by April 2003. Contract funds in the amount of $100,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 32 proposals solicited and one offer received. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport, Newport, R.I., is the contracting activity (N66604-98-D-2892).
