DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

Smart and Final Food Distributors, Inc., Stockton, Calif., is being awarded a $5,000,000 firm-fixed-price indefinite-quality contract for food and beverage support under the Prime Vendor program. Fifty-five proposals were solicited and five were received. Work is expected to be completed by Aug. 10, 1999. Funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (SP0300-98-D-2943).

AIR FORCE

ARINC Inc., Annapolis, Md., is being awarded a $6,123,000 cost-plus-fixed-fee-contract to provide for upgrade and ensure conformance of Maintenance Trainers with most recent C-5A/B aircraft system configurations and perform needed maintenance reports to Trainers as needed. There were six firms solicited and one proposal received. Expected contract completion date to be determined by Task Orders, expected to commence approximately Aug 15, 1998. Solicitation issue date was May 6, 1998. Negotiation completion date was July 28, 1998. San Antonio Air Logistics Center, Kelly AFB, Texas, is the contracting activity (F41608-98-D-0566).

ARMY

Holston Defense Corp., Kingsport, Tenn., was awarded on July 31, 1998, a $13,000,000 modification to a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for business closure costs, which are costs associated with severance pay, vacation expenses, material inventory, termination allowance, etc., to be paid to the out-going contractor. Work will be performed at the Holston Army Ammunition Plant, Kingsport, Tenn., and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Nov. 20, 1997. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Armament, Munitions & Chemical Command, Rock Island, Ill. (DAAA09-92-Z-0008).

Lockheed Martin Advanced Environmental Systems Inc., Albuquerque, N.M., is being awarded a $23,382,698 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for the dismantlement of submarines, to accomplish low level radioactive waste volume reduction in Russia. Work will be performed in Severodvinsk, Russia and Bolshoy Kamen, Russia, and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 125 bids solicited on Sept. 4, 1997, and five bids were received. The contracting activity is the Defense Special Weapons Agency, Alexandria, Va. (DSWA01-98-C-0132).
