AIR FORCE

Systems & Electronics Inc., St. Louis, Mo., is being awarded a $67,818,853 face value increase to a firm-fixed-price-contract for partial definitization of an undefinitized contractual modification to the existing 60K Loader (Tunner) contract for the purchase of 44 loaders under the FY 98 requirement. The loader is a self-propelled, air-deployable, hydraulically operated lift to transfer up to 60,000 lbs. of cargo. It is named in honor of Maj. Gen. William H. Tunner, commander of the 1948-49 Berlin Airlift and Air Transport Command. The supply support agreement portion of the agreement will be definitized separately. Expected contract completion date is Jan. 30, 1999. Negotiation completion date was January 30, 1998. Robins Air Logistics Center, Robins AFB, Ga., is the contracting activity (F09603-94-C-0338-PZ0033).

Sverdrup Technology, Inc., Fort Walton Beach, Fla., is being awarded a $6,200,000 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity-contract to provide for evaluation of automatic target recognition/sensor fusion in the sensor technologies integration laboratory. Expected contract completion date is August 3, 2007. Solicitation issue date was October 24, 1997. Negotiation completion date was July 29, 1998. Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33615-98-D-1232).

United Technologies Corp., San Antonio, Texas, is being awarded a $6,627,356 firm-fixed-price-contract to provide for repair/overhaul of 412 F100 fan drive turbine modules (best estimated quantity) in support of the F-16 aircraft. There were two firms solicited and two proposals received. Expected contract completion date is 30 days after receipt of order. Solicitation issue date was March 23, 1998. San Antonio Air Logistics Center, Kelly AFB, Texas, is the contracting activity (F41608-98-D-0511).

ARMY

Urban Associates Inc.*, El Paso, Texas, is being awarded a $7,124,126 firm-fixed-price contract for Phase II of the Wing Headquarters Building, a new two-story headquarters facility with administrative offices and supporting areas, for the German Air Force. Work will be performed at Holloman Air Force Base, N.M., and is expected to be completed by Oct. 30, 1999. There were 62 bids solicited on June 10, 1998, and nine bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque, N.M. (DACA47-98-C-0018).

Watterson Construction Co., Anchorage, Alaska, is being awarded a $17,199,475 firm-fixed-price contract for renovation of three existing 3,466 sq. meter concrete dormitories. All three buildings will have a linen issue room and handicapped accessible guest toilets on their ground floors. Roofs will be replaced on the corridors connecting the buildings. Exterior insulation, exterior painting and a gravel drive are additive items. Work will be performed at Clear Air Station, Alaska, and is expected to be completed by July 15, 2000. There were 226 bids solicited on June 9, 1998, and six bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Anchorage, Alaska (DACA85-98-C-0026).

General Dynamics Ordnance System, Burlington, Vt., is being awarded a $35,418,691 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for 2.75 inch Rocket Systems (for use on helicopters), for Taiwan, Mexico, Venezuela, and Columbia. Work will be performed in Burlington, Vt., and is expected to be completed by April 30, 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on March 18, 1998. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Armament, Munitions & Chemical Command, Rock Island, Ill. (DAAA09-95-C-0028).

CIVIL WORKS - NON MILITARY

Bean Horizon Corp. & Stuyvesant Dredging Co., a joint venture, Bell Chasse, La., is being awarded a $500,000 increment as part of a $10, 817,000 firm-fixed-price contract for dredging entrance channels, a 45 foot project. Work will be performed in the Houston-Galveston Navigation Channels, Texas, and is expected to be completed by Jan. 31, 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 25 bids solicited on June 15, 1998, and three bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston, Texas (DACW64-98-C-0022).

NAVY

Bell-Boeing Joint Program Office, Patuxent River, Md., is being awarded a $40,000,000 ceiling priced modification to previously awarded contract N00019-96-C-0054 for incorporation of an engineering change proposal to revise the internal cargo handling system for the MV-22 low rate initial production aircraft. Work will be performed in Ridley Park, Pa. (80%) and Fort Worth, Texas (20%), and is expected to be completed by September 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

Newport News Shipbuilding, Newport News, Va., is being awarded a $5,934,125 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to plan and prepare for the defueling, inactivation, and tow of USS Narwhal (SSN 671). This contract also includes pre-contract costs for one week of man-hours, equipment, material, fabrication and renovation. Work will be performed in Newport News, Va., and is expected to be completed by September 1998. These contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (N00024-98-C-2909).

Allied Technology Group, Inc., of Rockville, Md., is being awarded a $5,756,859 cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for technical, on-site maintenance and management support to maintain technology equipment, audiovisual equipment and related systems in support of Joint, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, and U.S. Coast Guard information systems. This contract contains four one-year options, which, if exercised, will bring the total cumulative value to $30,096,748. Work will be performed in Virginia Beach, Va. (50%) and North Charleston, S.C. (50%). Contract funding is from multiple sources and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was solicited via the Commerce Business Daily and the World Wide Web with 2 proposals received. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Charleston is the contracting activity (N65236-98-D-6805).

Quanta Systems Corporation, Gaithersburg, Md., is being awarded a $5,426,189 combined cost-plus-fixed-fee, fixed price with prospective redetermination, indefinite quantity/indefinite delivery contract for engineering services in support of the Navy Regionalization Plan. The contractor will design and install systems incorporating DCX equipment that will take multiple electronic security systems and integrate them with one monitoring system. Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif. (20%), Norfolk, Va. (20%), Pensacola, Fla. (20%), Honolulu, Hawaii (20%), and other locations throughout the United States (20%). Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with two offers solicited and one proposal received. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Charleston is the contracting activity (N65236-98-D-7813).

Malouf Construction Corp., Madison, Miss., is being awarded a $5,414,641 firm-fixed-price contract for a quaywall extension at Naval Station Pascagoula. A quaywall is a wharf bulkhead. The work being performed provides for the extension of the west quaywall by approximately 61 meters, dredging and site work, a new fendering system, new utility extensions, new marine specialties, new data/communications systems, new paving and fencing, a new electrical transformer building constructed of steel framing and pre-cast concrete panels, removal of some existing sheet piling, and incidental related work. Work will be performed in Pascagoula, Miss., and is expected to be completed by January 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 24 offers solicited and 2 proposals received. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southern Division, North Charleston, S.C., is the contracting activity (N62467-96-1112).
