MCI WORLDCOM, McLean, Va. is being awarded three firm-fixed price contracts, with economic price adjustment, for leased commercial communication services between two locations in the Continental US (CONUS) and Europe for an estimated 60-month period. The contracts are being awarded on a competitive basis. The lifecycle cost for each service is $2,872,000, up to $9,237,120 if the options are exercised. Each contract includes options for one additional service, and five additional years for each service. The services are in support of the DISN Integrated Digital Network Exchange Backbone Expansion. The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization, Scott Air Force Base, Ill. is the contracting activity. (DCA200-96-H-0044-(IQOs) XH27AUG982246, XH27AUG982247 and XH27JUL982240).


Gibbs & Cox, Inc., New York, N.Y., is being awarded an option to previously awarded contract N0024-97-C-2300. $5,910,000 is being placed against the execution of a $18,654,403 cost-plus-fixed-fee option for flight upgrade development and engineering support for the DDG 51 class AEGIS destroyer program. Work will be performed in Arlington, Va. (55%) and New York, N.Y. (45%), and is expected to be completed October 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.


United Technologies Corp., West Palm Beach, Fla., is being awarded an $88,832,569 face value increase to a cost-plus-award-fee contract to provide for studies and analyses in support of the Component Improvement Program for the F-100-PW-100 engine on the F-15 and F-16 aircraft. The work will be completed December 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33657-97/C-0017, P00008).
