NAVY

Electric Boat Corp., Groton, Conn., is receiving $54,216,405 to exercise an option under previously awarded contract N00024-98-C-4039 to provide for the manufacture, testing and delivery of one production main propulsion unit for the third Virginia class submarine. Work will be performed in Sunnyvale, Calif., and is expected to be completed by June 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

Hughes Aircraft, Naval and Maritime Systems, Mukilteo, Wash., is executing a $21,099,936 modification to previously awarded contract N00024-97-C-6107 for MK-46 Mod 5A(S) and (SW) torpedoes for the governments of Egypt (16%), and Taiwan (84%) under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program. The MK-46 is a lightweight torpedo that can be launched from surface combatant torpedo tubes, ASROC missiles and fixed and rotary wing aircraft for anti-submarine defense. Work will be performed in Seattle, Wash., and is expected to be completed in December 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

Lockheed Martin Corp., Lockheed Martin Information Systems, Orlando, Fla., is being awarded an $18,121,599 cost-plus-award-fee, delivery order to establish the 19th Special Operations Squadron, Hurlburt Field, Fla., as a special operations forces core distributed interactive simulation facility (SOF CDF) and to provide the management, operations, instructional support, courseware development and maintenance support for the systems and subsystems contained with the SOF CDF. Work will be performed in Hurlburt Field, Fla. (90%), and Orlando, Fla. (10%), and is expected to be completed by November 2000. Contract funds in the amount of $8,066,400 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The basic contract was competitively procured with 125 proposals solicited and two offers received. The Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Div., Orlando, Fla., is the contracting activity (N61339-96-D-0002).

Gibbs Construction Co., New Orleans, La., is being awarded a $9,297,000 firm-fixed-price contract for design and construction of new bachelor enlisted quarters at the Naval Construction Battalion Center, Gulfport. The multi-story facility will be approximately 6,332 square meters resulting in 84 modules each consisting of two living/sleeping rooms, kitchenette, bath and storage. Work will be performed in Gulfport, Miss., and is expected to be completed by March 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contract was competitively procured with 60 proposals solicited and 11 offers received. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southern Div., North Charleston, S.C., is the contracting activity (N62467-98-C-0674).

Essex Electro Engineers, Inc., Schaumburg, Ill., is being awarded a $7,360,000 modification to previously awarded contract N68335-98-C-0050 to exercise an option for the procurement of 100 mobile electric power plants and associated data. Work will be performed in Schaumburg, Ill., and is expected to be completed by December 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Div., Lakehurst, N.J., is the contracting activity.

General Dynamics, Armament Systems, Burlington, Vt., is receiving $7,344,350 to exercise an option under previously awarded contract N00024-97-C-5189 for Guided Missile Directors Mark 82 Mod 0 with Director Control Mark 200 Mod 0, maintenance assist modules, and production test center site support (integration, logistic and field engineering support services). The Mark 82 Mod 0 with Director Control Mark 200, Mod 0 is a vital part of the AEGIS Weapon System (AN/SPY-1D) to be installed in DDGs 93, 94 and 95. Work will be performed in Burlington, Vt., and is expected to be completed by April 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

Eastern Maintenance and Services, Inc.,* Benson, N.C., is being awarded a $5,096,287 firm-fixed-price contract for housing maintenance and repair services for approximately 186 housing units at the Naval Weapons Station, Seal Beach, Calif. Work will be performed in Seal Beach, California, and is expected to be completed by December 2003. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 47 proposals solicited and seven offers received. The Officer in Charge of Construction, Navy Public Works Center, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity (N63387-98-D-8023).

ARMY

United Defense, LP Ground Systems Division, York, Pa., is being awarded a $19,000,000 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for purchasing 10 command and control vehicles (C2V). Work will be performed in York, Pa., (89%) and Aiken, S.C. (11%), and is expected to be completed by May 30, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract solicited on July 2, 1996. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Tank Automotive & Armaments Command, Warren Mich., (DAAE07-97-C-X032).
