NAVY

National Steel and Shipbuilding, San Diego, Calif., is being awarded a $230,626,488 modification to previously awarded contract N00024-93-C-2203 for the construction of one conventional sealift prepositioned/surge ship (CSP/S-24); data; technical manuals; spare parts; crew orientation and familiarization; and pierside services. Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif., and is expected to be completed by December 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

Electric Boat Corp., Groton, Conn., is being awarded a $42,727,458 modification to previously awarded contract N00024-95-C-4030 for changes to the Magnetic Bearing System of the prototype Ship Service Turbine Generator for the VIRGINIA Class submarine. Work will be performed in Sunnyvale, Calif., and is expected to be completed by June 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

Electric Boat Corp., Groton, Conn., is being awarded a $38,353,137 modification to previously awarded contract N00024-99-C-2900 to exercise an option for consolidated design agent, planning yard, and engineering and technical support for nuclear submarines. Work will be performed in Groton, Conn. (60%); Bangor, Wash. (13%); Kings Bay, Ga. (11%); Newport, R.I. (6%) and Quonset, R.I. (5%); and Arlington, Va. (5%), and is expected to be completed by September 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

EDO Electro-Ceramic Products, Salt Lake City, Utah, is being awarded a $9,164,332 firm-fixed-priced contract for AN/BQN-17 secure depth sounder system replacement/Upgrade consisting of one first article unit and 30 production units. The system is the primary means by which a submarine determines water depth below the keel. Work will be performed in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is expected to complete by September 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with eleven proposals solicited and one offer received. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport, R.I., is the contracting activity (N66604-00-C-2223).

AIR FORCE

McDonnell Douglas Corp., Berkeley, Mo., is being awarded a $162,642,566 firm-fixed-price contract to provide for 8,163 Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) kits broken down as follows: 5,073 applicable to the Air Force MK-84 2000 pound bomb, 2,174 applicable to the Air Force BLU-109 2000 pound bomb, and 916 applicable to the Navy BLU-109 2000 pound bomb. JDAM is a strap-on kit with Inertial Navigation System/Global Positioning System capability that will provide an improved aerial delivery capability for existing 1000 and 2000 pound bombs. Expected contract completion date is Feb. 28, 2002. Solicitation issue date was Dec. 2, 1999. Air Armament Center, Eglin AFB, Fla., is the contracting activity (F08635-00-C-0032).

The Boeing Company, Long Beach, Calif., is being awarded an $11,586,947 option to a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract, F33657-97-C-0008-P00091, to provide for various quantities of five retrofit kits and associated installation support for the cargo bay, electronic engine control, and cabin pressurization on the C-17 aircraft. Expected contract completion date is Dec. 31, 2001. Solicitation issue date was July 19, 1999. Negotiation completion date was Feb. 4, 2000. Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, is the contracting activity.

ITT Industries, Colorado Springs, Colo., is being awarded a $7,850,000 (Not-to-Exceed) indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to provide for research and development support for the Air Force Research Laboratory High Power Microwave effects program. This project will investigate the lethality of high power microwave devices and the vulnerability of Untied States systems to such threats. Expected contract completion date is Feb. 25, 2005. Solicitation issue date was Sept. 7, 1999. Negotiation completion date was Feb. 9, 2000. Air Force Research Laboratory, Kirtland AFB, NM, is the contracting activity (F29601-00-D-0061).

Mobil Oil Corporation, Fairfax, Va., is being awarded an $134,115,251 fixed-price-with-economic-price-adjustment contract for aviation turbine fuel, JP8. Two hundred seventy one proposals were solicited and twenty three were received. Work will be performed in Beaumont, Texas, and is expected to be completed by April 30, 2001. Sunoco, Inc. (R&M), Philadelphia, Pa., is being awarded a $78,867,101 fixed-price-with-economic-price-adjustment contract for aviation turbine fuel, JP-8. Two hundred seventy one proposals were solicited and twenty three were received. Work will be performed in Marcus Hook, Pa., and is expected to be completed by April 30, 2001. Fisher Scientific Company, Pittsburgh, Pa., is being awarded a $43,600,000 fixed-price-with-economic-price-adjustment indefinite-quantity contract for distribution under the Laboratory Integrated Delivery System program. Weeks Marine Inc., Cranford, N.J., is being awarded $7,022,000 as part of a potential $22,543,000 firm-fixed-price contract for dredging, drilling, blasting and disposal in Kill van Kull, Newark Bay Channels. Work will be performed at the Ports of New York (50%), and New Jersey (50%), and is expected to be completed by Feb. 23, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 18 bids solicited on Dec. 22, 1999, and three bids were received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York, N.Y., is the contracting activity (DACW51-00-C-0006).

J. E. McAmis Inc.*, Chico, Calif., was awarded on Feb 24, 2000, a $5,350,000 increment as part of a $9,794,798 firm-fixed-price contract for levee repair work to the Riverbed Gradient Facility for Sacramento River. Work will be performed in the Glenn-Colusa Irrigation District intake, Sacramento River Mile 206, Calif., and is expected to be completed by Nov. 15, 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 108 bids solicited on Dec. 20, 1999, and nine bids were received.
