NAVY

Electric Boat Corp. Groton, Conn., is being awarded a $50,700,000 modification to previously awarded contract N00024-98-C-4039 for the manufacture, testing and delivery of one ship service turbine generator set for the Virginia Class new construction submarine program. Work will be performed in Sunnyvale, Calif., and is expected to be completed by February 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

Bell-Boeing Joint Program Office, Patuxent River, Md., is being awarded a $30,000,000 modification to previously awarded contract N00019-99-C-1090 to provide additional funding for the procurement of long-lead items associated with the manufacture and delivery of one additional FY00 Lot IV MV-22 low-rate-initial production aircraft. Work will be performed in Ridley Park, Pa. (50%); Fort Worth, Texas (35%); and Amarillo, Texas (15%), and is expected to be completed in October 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

Ultra Electronics Weapons Systems, Gloucester, England, is being awarded a $6,901,957 modification to previously awarded contract N00019-97-C-0094 to exercise an option for 208 high pressure pure air generators (141 AV-8B units; 67 F/A-18E/F units); 100 extra high pressure pure air generator filters for the F/A-18E/F; flight test support for the F/A-18E/F; and ground vibration testing for the F/A-18E/F. Work will be performed in Gloucester, England, and is expected to be completed by April 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

AIR FORCE

McDonnell Douglas Corp., St. Louis, Mo., is being awarded an $8,630,652 other transaction ($5,807,059 government share; $2,823,593 contractor share) to provide for stage one development of the pneumatic weapon ejection system in support of the F-15E aircraft. This system will allow weapons (bombs, missiles, etc.) to be released from the aircraft using a burst of compressed air. An "other transaction" is a unique contracting authority that permits greater flexibility to negotiate contract terms under special circumstances such as this program. Expected contract completion date is April 1, 2002. Solicitation issue date was June 15, 1999. Negotiation completion date is April 4, 2000. Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33657-00-9-2055).
