NAVY

Newport News Shipbuilding, Newport News, Va., is being awarded a $107,500,000 cost-plus-fixed-fee letter contract to provide for the manufacture, test, and delivery of one prototype Main Turbine Generator (MTG), engineering services to support the development and completion of the CVNX Main Propulsion Unit (MPU) preliminary design, and the CVNX production MTG detail design, manufacture, and test specification. $21,060,000, which covers the first six months of contract performance, will be obligated at contract award. Work will be performed in Newport News, Va., and is expected to be completed by June 2008. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (N00024-01-C-4010).

Northrup Grumman Corp., Bethpage, N.Y., is being awarded a $30,518,914 modification to a previously awarded firm fixed price contract (N00019-00-C-0242) for the fabrication of ten EA-6B Wing Center Section Kits. Work will be performed in St. Augustine, Fla. (60%) and Bethpage, N.Y. (40%), and is expected to be completed by February 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Inc., Cambridge, Mass., is being awarded a $10,636,488 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for design, development and validation of a Guidance, Navigation and Electronics Unit. Work will be performed in Cambridge, Mass. (80%); Cedar Rapids, Iowa (18%); and Westlake Village, Calif. (2%), and is expected to be completed by December 2002. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured through a Broad Agency Announcement with seven proposals solicited and seven offers received. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (N00024-01-C-5247).

United Defense, Limited Partnership, Armament Systems Division, Louisville, Ky., is being awarded a $7,938,718 modification to previously awarded cost-plus-award-fee contract N00024-96-C5432 for the overhaul, remanufacture, repair and life cycle maintenance support of U.S. Navy gun weapons systems, including the 5" 54 MK 45. This modification includes six ship sets of MK 32 surface vessel torpedo tubes and four MK 36 decoy launching systems. Work will be performed in Louisville, Ky., and is expected to be completed by September 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

AIR FORCE

Lockheed Martin Mission Systems, Colorado Springs, Colo., was awarded on Oct. 31, 2000 a $34,566,820 option to a cost-plus-award-fee contract to provide for fiscal year 2001 hardware and software maintenance for the Command and Control Segment of the Air Force Satellite Control Network. This effort also includes systems and site level engineering and integration support. Expected contract completion date is Oct. 31, 2001. Lockheed Martin Corp., Marietta, Ga., was awarded on Oct. 31, 2000 a $26,500,000 modification to a cost-plus-award-fee contract to provide for fiscal year 2001 engineering and manufacturing development in support of the Avionics Modernization Program for the C-5 aircraft. The Boeing Company, Seattle, Wash., is being awarded an $18,096,645 option to a firm-fixed-price-with-economic-price-adjustment contract to provide for fiscal year 2001 contractor logistic support for the C-32A aircraft. Expected contract completion date is Sept. 30, 2005. Solicitation issue date was May 3, 1996. Negotiation completion date was June 3, 1996. Lockheed Martin Corp., Fort Worth, Texas, was awarded on Oct. 31, 2000 a $10,958,398 option to a firm-fixed-price contract to provide for Combined Life-Time Support through September 2001 for select avionics systems, including the Modular Mission Computer, on the F-16 aircraft. Approximately 21% of this effort supports foreign military sales to Taiwan and approximately 46% supports foreign military sales to the European Participating Air Forces (Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands, and Norway). Flight Safety Services Corp., Englewood, Colo., was awarded on Oct. 31, 2000 a $9,852,752 option to a firm-fixed-price contract to provide for fiscal year 2001 Operation, Maintenance and Support (OM&S) for the Aircrew Training System (ATS) supporting the C-141 aircraft. AAI Corp., Hunt Valley, Md., was awarded on Oct. 31, 2000 a $6,130,859 modification to a cost-plus-incentive-fee contract which definitizes development of Test Program Sets in support of various radar and countermeasures systems on the F-15, F-16, and A/OA-10 aircraft. This action also provides for re-hosting of Test Program Sets supporting countermeasures and radar systems on the AV-8B aircraft. Approximately 13% of this effort supports Navy requirements. Expected contract completion date is Dec. 31, 2002. Solicitation issue date was Jan. 7, 2000. Negotiation completion date was Sept. 26, 2000. ARMY

Stanley Associates Inc., Alexandria, Va., is being awarded a $7,570,305 delivery order amount as part of cost-plus-fixed-fee, multi-year contract DAAA09-96-G-0004, for continued development, testing, implementation and support of the Army War Reserve Deployment System and the Automated Battlebook System. Work will be performed in Alexandria, Va., and is expected to be completed by Oct. 31, 2001. Of the total contract funds, $7,570,305 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Aug. 15, 2000. The U.S. Army Operations Support Command (Provisional), Rock Island, Ill., is the contracting activity.
