ARMY

McDonnell Douglas Helicopter Systems, Mesa, Ariz., is being awarded a $412,140,391 modification to firm-fixed-price multi-year contract DAAH23-00-C-0001, for the AH-64D Apache Longbow program. This obligation is for Lot 6 for 52 AH-64D Apache Longbows, peculiar ground support equipment, spares support, AH-64D Apache Longbow maintenance and operator training devices and long lead advance procurement for Lot 7 of the AH-64D Apache Longbow program. Work will be performed in Mesa, Ariz., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2006. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on March 1, 1999. The U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity.

Caterpillar Inc., Mossville, Ill., is being awarded a delivery order amount of $10,088,032 as part of firm-fixed-price/requirements contract DAAE07-98-D-S007, for 159 Vibratory Roller Compaction Vehicles (Type II), with supporting tools and handoff. These vehicles are used to compact soil for construction. Work will be performed in Minneapolis, Minn., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were two bids solicited on Nov. 19, 1997, and two bids were received. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity.

AIR FORCE

TRW IICBM Systems, Clearfield, Utah, is being awarded a $171,193,435 option to a fixed-price-incentive contract to provide for 80 NS-50 missile guidance sets and 45 cable sets in support of the guidance replacement program for the Minuteman III missile system. Expected contract completion date is Dec. 14, 2001. Solicitation issue date was Sept. 28, 2000. Negotiation completion date was Nov. 8, 2000. Space Vector Corp., Chatsworth, Calif.; Orbital Sciences Corp., Chandler, Ariz.; Coleman Research Corp., Orlando, Fla.; and Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company, Denver, Colo., were awarded on Nov. 13, 2000, a $96,000,000 (Total Program Maximum) indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to participate in the Sounding Rocket program follow-on (SRP-2) program. This program will provide for launch systems and services to conduct ballistic flight tests with ranges less than 5500 kilometers. These launches will support a variety of test objectives. Further funds will be obligated as individual delivery orders are issued. Delivery order requirements will be competed between the four contractors. The Air Force can issue delivery orders totaling up to the maximum amount indicated above, though actual requirements may necessitate less than this amount. Expected contract completion date is Nov. 14, 2000. Solicitation issue date was Aug. 11, 2000. Space and Missile System Center, Los Angeles AFB, Calif., is the contracting activity. Boeing Space and Communications, Seattle, Wash., was awarded on Nov. 13, 2000, a $62,432,372 firm-fixed-price contract to provide for the following in support of the Radar System Improvement Program (RSIP) for the Air Force's Airborne Warning and control System (AWACS) aircraft: five Group A and B radar kits, ten Group A and six Group B in-flight maintenance spares, 19 High Voltage Auxiliary spares kits, special test equipment for the Avionics Integration Support Facility, one log commodity spares, one lot production spares, and engineering support through November 2001. In addition, six spare Transmit Angle controls and 15 spare Thermal Assemblies will be modified to the RSIP configuration. Expected contract completion date is December 2004. DME Corp., Orlando, Fla., is being awarded a $22,938,936 option to a firm-fixed-price contract to provide for 204 Reduced Vertical Separation Minima Kits for the KC-135 aircraft. These kits provide a high accuracy altimetry system that allows aircraft to fly at reduced vertical spacing. Expected contract completion date is April 30, 2002. Sota Corp., North Hollywood, Calif., was awarded on Nov. 13, 2000, a $10,126,366 option to a firm-fixed-price contract to provide for 1,098 (best estimated quantity) Submerged Override Pumps and 4,097 (best estimated quantity) Submerged Boost Pumps applicable to the fuel system on the KC-135 and B-52 aircraft. Funds will be obligated as individual delivery orders are issued. Expected contract completion date will be 36 each within 120 days and continue 36 per month thereafter for the Submerged Override Pump, and 120 each within 120 days and continue 120 per month thereafter for the Submerged Boost Pump. Gulfsteam Aerospace Corp., Savannah, Ga., was awarded on Nov. 13, 2000, a $5,695,268 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract to provide for FY 2001 contractor logistics support for the C-37A aircraft. Expected contract completion date was Sept. 30, 2006. Solicitation issue date was Nov. 18, 1996. Negotiation completion date was April 2, 1997. DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

Coastal Refining and Marketing, Inc., Houston, Texas, is being awarded a $8,125,435 fixed-price-with-economic-price-adjustment contract for turbine fuel. Fifteen proposals were solicited and four were received. Work is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2000, and will be performed at Corpus Christi, Texas. Funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. The Defense Energy Support Center, Fort Belvoir, Va., is the contracting activity (SP0600-01-D-0455).

NAVY

Kollmorgen Corp., Electro-Optical Division, Northampton, Mass., is being awarded a $5,900,000 modification to previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract N66604-99-C-5933 for one Type 8B Mod 3 Periscope Set, modified to provide an infrared imaging capability with corresponding radar camouflage unit, data, and developmental drawings. This contract contains an incentive clause, which if executed, will bring the total contract value to $6,020,000. Work will be performed in Northampton, Mass., and is expected to be completed by April 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport Division, Newport R.I., is the contracting activity.
