Supporting systems and items include utilities, lighting, site improvements, industrial waste pretreatment, fire suppressions, overhead work platforms, ventilation, particulate controls and other necessary support. American Renovation & Construction Co., San Diego, Calif., is being awarded a $25,626,000 firm-fixed-price contract for family housing revitalization at Manatee Bay and Caribe Breeze, U. S. Navy Station Roosevelt Roads. The Navy originally awarded this contract to Fermin O. Gonzales Inc. on Feb. 28, 2001. However, on March 8, 2001, American Renovation and Construction Co., filed a complaint for declaratory judgment and injunctive relief with the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, protesting the Department of the Navy's award to Fermin O. Gonzales Inc. As a result of reevaluation, American Renovation & Construction is being awarded the subject contract. The contract previously awarded Fermin O. Gonzales Inc. will be terminated for convenience. Work will be performed in Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico, and is expected to be completed by March 2004. The Air Force is modifying a contract with Lockheed Martin Corp., Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Systems Co., Marietta, Ga.
