ARMY

Lockheed Martin Corp., Missiles & Fire Control-Dallas, Grand Prairie, Texas, was awarded on July 30, 2001, an $82,444,000 firm-fixed-price letter contract for low rate initial production IIIA for the Army Tactical Missile System-BAT (Brilliant Anti-Armor Submunition), including 19 Tactical Block II/BAT missile systems, three test missiles, and logistics and test support requirements. Work will be performed in Dallas, Texas (99%), and Horizon City, Texas (1%), and completion is expected by Nov. 11, 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on May 30, 2001. The U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity (DAAH01-01-C-0133).

Computer Sciences Corp., Huntsville, Ala., is being awarded a $22,017,465 modification to firm-fixed-price and cost-plus-fixed-fee contract DAHC94-96-C-0002, for the addition of a Compaq SC40, a Compaq SC45 and an upgrade of the Cray T3E at the Engineer Research and Development Center's Major Shared Resource Center. Work will be performed in Vicksburg, Miss., and completion is expected by March 31, 2004. Of the total contract funds, $1,474,256 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on March 31, 1995. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Vicksburg, Miss., is the contracting activity.

McDonnell Douglas Helicopter Co., Mesa, Ariz., is being awarded $18,640,235 as part of a $20,700,006 firm-fixed-price contract for improved strap packs, 232 AH64D, 241 AH64A, 100 spares and 100 option spares. Work will be performed in Mesa, Ariz., and completion is expected by Dec. 31, 2005. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Nov. 30, 2000. The U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity (DAAH23-01-C-0092).

CIVIL WORKS - NON MILITARY

Luhr Brothers Inc., and Pine Bluff Sand & Gravel, a joint venture, Columbia, Ill., is being awarded a $100,000 increment as part of a $13,865,000 firm-fixed-price contract for stone dike construction in the Mississippi River at Big Island, Desha County, Ark. Work will be performed in Desha County**, Ark., and completion is expected by Jan. 15, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 24 bids solicited on Feb. 27, 2001, and one bid was received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Memphis, Tenn., is the contracting activity (DACW66-01-C-0021).

AIR FORCE

McDonnell Douglas Corp., Long Beach Calif., is being awarded a $49,337,665 cost-plus-award-fee contract modification to provide for extension by six months of the Defense System Upgrade Program supporting the B-1B aircraft. This extension adjusts the program to match the funding profile, to allow for modifications to the B-1 Block E aircraft and the Integrated Defensive Electronic countermeasures, and to allow for the effects of a strike by contractor software engineers. At this time $13,580,000 of the funds have been awarded. This work is to be completed July 2003. Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33657-97-C-002, P00051).

American Society for Engineering Education, Washington, DC, is being awarded a $38,256,000 cost contract no fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to provide for administration of the Department of Defense National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship Program. This effort includes recruitment, applicant screening and evaluation, selection of fellows, payment of tuition and stipends, data collection, and fulfillment of reporting requirements. At this time the total amount of funds have been obligated. This work is to be completed July 2004. Air Force Office of Scientific Research, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (F49620-99-C-0054, P00004).

NAVY

BAE Systems Applied Technologies, Inc., Rockville, Md., is being awarded a $16,746,119 modification to previously awarded cost-plus-fixed-fee term contract (N00421-97-C-1460) to exercise an option for technical and engineering services in support of the integration and testing of radio communication systems for shipboard installation. The estimated level of effort for this option is 512,760 man-hours. Work will be performed in California, Md. (80%); St. Inigoes, Md., (10%); Bath, Maine (5%); and Pascagoula, Miss. (5%), and is expected to be completed in October 2005. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, St. Inigoes, Md., is the contracting activity.

The Austin Company, Irvine, Calif., is being awarded a $6,290,000 firm-fixed-price contract for the design and construction of a new corrosion control hangar at Naval Air Station Fallon. Work will be performed in Fallon, Nev., and is expected to be completed by September 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The basic contract was competitively procured using the two-phase design build process. A total of 80 offers were solicited with eight firms responding in Phase I. Of the eight responses received from Phase I, only five firms were invited to submit technical and price proposals in Phase II. The Engineering Field Activity, Northwest, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Poulsbo, Wash., is the contracting activity (N44255-01-C-1011).

DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

Welch Allyn Protocol*, Beaverton, Or., (Washington County), is being awarded a $7,500,000 firm-fixed-price with indefinite quantity type contract for ECAT (Electronic Catalog) for all military and federal agencies. There were 368 proposals solicited and 63 responded. Performance completion date is expected to be July 30, 2002. Funds will be determined at time of the delivery order. The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia is the contracting activity (SP0200-01-D-8042).
