ARMY

General Dynamics Corp., Needham, Mass., is being awarded a firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with a base year total of $18,340,000 and an estimated cumulative total of $98,000,000 if all options are exercised. This long-term life cycle support contract supports the total telephone switch system. Services include contractor depot level support (repair/return), short term and long term field service support, remote diagnostics, emergency technical assistance, software/equipment upgrades and expansions, parts and material, training, technical data (publications, documentation changes, customer service reports, etc.) and extended service plan. Work will be performed at various Department of Defense installations worldwide and completion is expected by Aug. 20, 2006. There was an announcement on the World Wide Web on May 18, 2001, and two bids were received. The U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command, Fort Monmouth, N.J., is the contracting activity (DAAB07-01-D-H101).

Coastal Design and Construction Inc.*, Gloucester, Va., is being awarded a $6,543,000 firm-fixed-price contract for the construction of offshore breakwaters and placement of beach nourishment. The contractor will use sand pumped onto the beach by another contract and reconstruct the seaward side of the eroded dune and construct a 100-foot wide berm approximately 6,400 feet long. Work will be performed at Fort Story, Va., and completion is expected by Oct. 30, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 90 bids solicited on June 26, 2001, and four bids were received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk, Va., is the contracting activity (DACA65-01-C-0051).

AIR FORCE

Computer Sciences Corp., Federal Sector-Defense Group, Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., is being awarded a $13,722,978 (estimated) cost-plus-award-fee modification contract to provide for fiscal year 2001 technical and engineering support for the Air Force Flight Test Center, Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., and the Utah Test and Training Range. This action is taken in accordance with contract clause FAR 52.217-8, "Option to Extend Services." The government requires engineering and technical services in support of numerous research, development, test and evaluation test and training programs conducted by the Air Force. At this time, no funds have been obligated. This work is to be completed November 2001. The Air Flight Test Center, Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., is the contracting activity (F04611-92-C-0045 P00339).

NAVY

General Construction Co., Poulsbo, Wash., is being awarded an $8,745,173 firm-fixed-price contract for the temporary shutdown for repair of the Paleta Creek Fendering System and Quaywall at Naval Station San Diego. Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif., and is expected to be completed by September 2003. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 117 proposals solicited and six offers received. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southwest Division, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity (N68711-98-C-5416).

Science and Technology International Inc., Grosvenor Center, Honolulu, Hawaii, is being awarded a $7,600,000 cost-plus-fixed-fee order to demonstrate the capability of the airship (blimp) to support demonstrations of the Littoral Airborne Sensor - Hyperspectral (LASH). With this work, LASH could be developed for a number of functions such as protection and tracking of military targets during training exercises. Work will be performed in Honolulu, Hawaii, and is expected to be completed by February 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Office of Naval Research, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (N00014-99-D-0610) (Order 0006).

Mid Eastern Builders Inc., Chesapeake, Va., is being awarded a $6,084,700 firm-fixed-price contract to replace fuel storage tanks at Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point. This contract contains options which, if exercised, would bring the total cumulative value of this contract to $7,144,700. Work will be performed in Cherry Point, N.C., and is expected to be completed by April 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 61 proposals solicited and three offers received. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Atlantic Division, Norfolk, Va., is the contracting activity (N62470-00-C-0013).
