DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Princeton, N.J., is being awarded an estimated $14,906,599 indefinite type quantity requirement type contract for recombinant DNA (rDNA Human Insulin) for the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, and U.S. Marine Corps. Work will be performed in Clayton, N.C. This contract is exercising its option for year two which is in accordance with the terms of the option clause in the basic contract. Work is scheduled for completion by October 31, 2002. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contracting activity is the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pa. (SP0200-00-D-0511)

Gentex Corp., Carbondale, Pa., is being awarded a $7,003,681 firm fixed price with requirements type contract for flyer's helmets, light-weight, HGU55/P, for the U.S Navy and U.S. Air Force. Work is scheduled for completion June 12, 2002. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year with clothing and textile FY02 funds. This contract is a sole source contract. The company has propriety rights due to ownership of data on those particular helmets. The contracting activity is the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pa. (SP0100-00-D-5014)

NAVY

CACI Field Services Inc., Chantilly, Va., is being awarded a $10,156,719 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with time and material pricing provisions for logistical support services required by the Atlantic Fleet Integrated Logistics Overhaul Activity, Portsmouth, Va. These services include integrated logistics overhauls, integrated logistics reviews, post availability logistics support, and operational logistics support. Services are in support of Naval Sea Systems Command (the Navy's Integrated Logistics Overhaul Sponsor), fleet commanders, and type commanders. The contract contains options, which if exercised, would bring the total cumulative value of the contract to $51,500,344. Work will be performed at Portsmouth, Va. (64.43%); Jacksonville, Fla. (9.64%); Cherry Point, N.C. (7.84%); New London, Conn. (7.23%); Ingleside, Texas (3.01%); Bahrain (2.41%); Kittery, Maine (1.81%); Athens, Ga. (1.21%); Beaufort, S.C. (1.21 %); and La Maddelena, Italy (1.21%), and is expected to be completed October 2002. Contract funds expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured using Navy Electronic Contracting Online, with two offers received. The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Acquisition Department, Norfolk, Va., is the contracting activity (N00189-02-D-0007).

Bombardier Motor Corp. of America, Waukegan, Ill., is being awarded a $9,500,000 indefinite-quantity contract for engine repair parts for the Patrol Boat, Light (PBL). Work will be performed in Waukegan, Ill., and is expected to be completed by October 2006. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract is being awarded on a sole source basis. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Coastal Systems Station, Dahlgren Division, Panama City, Fla., is the contracting activity (N61331-02-D-0002).

CO-STAR III* (a joint venture), Mechanicsville, Md., is being awarded a $7,696,998 combination firm-fixed-price, indefinite-quantity contract for base operating services at the Naval Air Facility, Patuxent River, Md. This contract contains options, which if exercised, would bring the total cumulative value of this contract to a not to exceed value of $36,594,658. Work will be performed in Patuxent River, Md., and is expected to be completed by January 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was a small business set-aside and was competitively procured with 43 proposals solicited and three offers received. The Engineering Field Activity Chesapeake, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N62477-00-D-0085).

L-3 Communications, Ocean Systems Division, Sylmar, Calif., is being awarded a $5,214,470 firm-fixed-price (supply type) contract for AN/AQS-13F sonar transducer support with associated data. Work will be performed in Sylmar, Calif., and is expected to be completed by December 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was awarded on a sole source basis. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Crane Division, Crane, Ind., is the contracting activity (N00164-02-C-0008).

ARMY

Sunera-Paramount*, a joint venture, Marietta, Ga., is being awarded a $6,820,000 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a physical fitness training center. The project includes excavation, typical masonry building construction, utilities (electric, water, sewer, telephone, fiber optics, etc.) roads/parking and landscaping. The facility will include a gymnasium, weight rooms, exercise rooms, administrative offices, storage, showers, sauna/toilet rooms and mechanical/electrical space. Work will be performed at Fort Campbell, Ky., and completion is expected by Oct. 31, 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 95 bids solicited on Aug. 20, 2001, and six bids were received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville, Ky., is the contracting activity (DACA27-02-C-0001).

CIVIL WORKS - NON MILITARY

Mike Hooks Inc., Lake Charles, La., is being awarded a $50,000 increment as part of an $8,324,780 firm-fixed-price contract for pipeline dredging, deep draft; levee work; and refurbishing drop-outlet structures. Work will be performed at Sabine-Neches Waterway, Texas, Port Arthur Canal junction area and turning basins in Jefferson County, and completion is expected by Jan. 31. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 16 bids solicited on Sept. 4, 2001, and three bids were received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston, Texas, is the contracting activity (DACW64-02-C-0005).
