ARMY

SAFT America Inc., Valdese, N.C., was awarded on Dec. 10, 2001, a firm-fixed price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with a potential value of $150,000,000 for the next generation high performance lithium sulfur dioxide battery group. Work will be performed in Valdese, N.C., and is expected to be completed by Nov. 30, 2006. Bids were solicited on the World Wide Web, and two bids were received. The U.S. Army Communications Electronics Command, Ft. Monmouth, N.J., is the contracting activity (DAAB07-02-D-A204).

Pacchiosi Drill U.S.A. Inc., New York, N.Y., is being awarded a $3,000,000 increment of a $13,243,720 negotiated procurement contract for construction of impervious cutoff wall using grouting methods and conducting a jet grout test section program for record testing. Work will be performed at several sites along the American River, Sacramento, Calif., and is expected to be complete by Feb. 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 76 bids solicited in September 2001, and two bids were received. The Sacramento District Corps of Engineers, Sacramento, Calif., is the contracting activity (DACW05-02-C-0004).

AIR FORCE

Northrop Grumman Corp., Rolling Meadows, Ill., is being awarded a $65,111,239 firm-fixed-price contract modification to provide for 23 AN/ALQ-135 Band 1.5 internal countermeasures sets applicable to the F-15E aircraft. At this time, the total amount of funds has been obligated. This work will be complete December 2002. The Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33657-98-C-0037, P00033).

NAVY

General Dynamics Defense Systems, Pittsfield, Mass., is being awarded $40,319,975 under a previously awarded cost-plus-incentive-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract (N00030-00-C-0011) to exercise an option to provide for the fiscal year 2002 fire control omnibus options, which includes fire control production, operational support, field engineering services and repair and return effort. Work will be performed in Pittsfield, Mass., and is expected to be completed by September 2004. Contract funds in the amount of $14,975,400 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contract was not competitively procured. The Navy's Strategic Systems Programs, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

General Dynamics Defense Systems, Pittsfield, Mass., is being awarded $5,685,545 under a previously awarded cost-plus-incentive-fee contract (N00030-01-C-0044) to exercise an option to for Trident II fire control new weapons simulator and missile test and readiness equipment, missile monitor signal conditioner and monitor and power subsystem alteration kit. Work will be performed in Pittsfield, Mass., and is expected to be completed by September 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contract was not competitively procured. The Navy's Strategic Systems Programs, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

Williams Energy Partner L.P., Galena Park, Texas, is being awarded a $22,600,141 firm-fixed-price type contract for bulk petroleum products capable of receiving, storing and shipping three grades of government-owned petroleum product (turbine fuel aviation grade JP5, JP8 and fuel naval distillate grade F76) for the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force. This contract is a five-year contract with three five-year options. Performance completion date is scheduled for Jan. 31, 2007. Funds will be paid each fiscal year for the five-year base contract. Proposals were solicited on line, and two responded. The Defense Energy Support Center, Fort Belvoir, Va., the contracting activity (SP0600-02-C-5202).

Portion Pac, Stone Mountain, Ga., is being awarded a $8,370,390 fixed-price with economic price adjustment type contract for MREXXII - Spreads (consisting of cheddar cheese, peanut butter, apple, grape, strawberry and blackberry jam) for the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Marine Corps. This contract is being awarded as their second-year option. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Originally, there were 55 proposals, and two had responded.
